He hasn't lost anything at this point financially and they can't prove anything monetary loss in the future because it could be argued he didn't play well is why he dropped in the draft.

Right so if you are calling to police report libel since it is documentation, but libel is more along the lines of using your platform as a journalist to trash someones reputation. Slander is more common in circumstances like this. She said this, hence impacting him this way.

I was never under the impression it had to financially impact a person. If there is criminal intent to cause damage to a person's reputation it is slander. That was my understanding at least. I am no expert in any of this, but I nearly got a criminology degree. Seeing as I do nothing in the field I don't claim in any way to be an expert, can't fully remember a lot of this stuff.
