Give me a call when carson throws for 7 TDs in a game. In all honesty, I really like him with Alshon. If there's one thing I remember from Foles first go around is he wasn't afraid to throw it up there and let his WR win the battle (lest I remind you the WR he was doing that with was Cooper).

He's no Wentz but he played for the Eagles when Pederson was an assistant coach. I think Pederson knows how to use him without changing the game plan too much. I think they'll win but the Giants cover the 7.5 points in a competitive rivalry game.

the only true way to get back up to speed is to go out there in a real game and play. Practice helps, but it isn't game time situations.

There's nothing like live game reps. Can't simulate it. The whole playbook needs to be open in the playoffs and foles should have live experience with most of it.

to tell you the truth, I've only have 2 worries going forward with Foles. 1. if they don't get home field, I'm not confident he'll get it done in Minnesota. 2. When they win the SB with having home field in the NFC, the qb controversy that's gonna come between wentz and foles.

Yea, after last week, I'm thinking the same thing. But Doug has made his decision. It's Foles and Sudfeld will get no reps with the first team.

The other thing that is interesting to me, and this is what makes Doug 100x better than Reid.... he is ADJUSTING HIS PLAN to play to Foles strengths. They are studying Foles 2013 season to see what worked for him. They are talking about going up temp more, putting him in more shot gun and using fast release dink/dunks more. Truthfully, ELI tore us up with that. He moved the ball on our defense effortlessly doing that. It completely neutralized our pass rush. The moment they went away from it, our defense clamped down on them. But the point is, Doug is looking to put Foles in a more positive situation and play to his strengths. Reid TALKED about how he should do this, BUT NEVER DID!!

Yes, I think we are 1 and done. I have no faith in Foles at all. Especially after what I've seen in the past 2 games. But lets be fair to Foles a moment - he is a quality backup. I am fine with him coming in to fill in for a few games during the season. He has been put in a bad situation in that he is coming in for the playoffs. He will be a hero or a complete failure (99% odds are on this).

I do think they should have given Foles a complete game last week tho for practice. The ONLY advantage to seeing what we had in Sudfeld, is if we are legitimately considering putting him in. Honestly, he played better. And maybe a NEW person who the other team has no film on is our best real shot - because we are only going to win this "IF" our defense plays lights out, and we run it more and limit the passes to under 30.

I will say this also, on the subject of running the ball, I wish Doug would STOP RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE!! Kelce is horrible moving anyone, but he excels at pulling and hitting guys on the run. We have far more success running it out in the flank, counters, sweeps, etc. Running it up the gut leads to more 3 and outs and I don't feel like the coaching staff has noticed this yet. We need to run outside the tackles, or at minimum, between the tackle/guard when the tackle is ridden out with kelce pulling into that hole.

We need to run EFFECTIVELY, not just more.

The problem I see is that Wentz can keep plays alive by scrambling out of pressure and still making the play. He makes our pass protection better than what it really is. Foles can't do that ... people tend to forget that he got into the habit of backtracking from pressure and chucking it instead of stepping up into the pocket. We traded him for a reason and he validated that decision after he left. Our best bet is to limit how much we put on Foles and concentrate on the running game with good D.

I couldn't agree more. Wentz has really covered up the weakness of our OL issues, and Foles is putting a light on it. This is why Wentz is a true MVP and will be something truly special. I hope we continue to work on improving the OL. If we are going to keep Kelce, we need to run outside more and use the fast release. Wentz is going to have to learn to not do it all on his own as much.
