From John McClain (Texans beat) on twitter. I thought he stood out a little early on tonight. Not much, but he had a few moments.

After playing better against the Saints than he did against the Jets, I thought Mario Williams took a step back tonight.

It didn't matter if Williams was standing up or dropping into a 3-point stance, I didn't see him make any plays like I did against Saints.

Our offense has done literally nothing all game. It reminds me of the days of Hostler as OC.

Bethel-Thompson just looks funny on the back of a jersey.

There's T.J. Yates. One of the more intriguing projects in the NFL to me.

A rare Devard sighting. I remember him in college.

Wonder how many yards the Texans have gained on the perimeter tonight via the dumpoff/swing and the run.

Anyone else see that Jim Schwartz photo in the Browns media guide from '94 that they just showed? Yikes.

Kubiak on Foster via Nick Scurfield on twitter:

I'd say Ron Johnson played his way off the 53 tonight. Still impressed by Culliver and Brock. Madieu Williams stood out as well. Dobbs should make the team. Aldon didn't do a whole hell of a lot. Looks like Haralson will be hanging on to his starting job. :(

To get your third stringers some good game experience? you get better quicker when you play people who are better than you.

But we have some people fighting for positions, including starting jobs like linebacker, and O-line. I would have liked some of the number 2's to get time with the starterss, that's valuable from an experience and evaluation point of view.

I can see how not having the elite guys next to you, has a way of highlighting each players weaknesses in an honest way. So I'm not mad, I just think with this off season even our starters need time.

My goodness, what positives can you take away from this game? I'm not sure which was more worrisome, the clueless look on Harbaugh's face as the Texans dismantled both our offense and defense or the fact that Kaepernick got so many reps. I tell you, if he is actually thinking about starting Kaepernick in the regular season they are in big trouble. He looks absolutely lost out there. The O-line is really struggling too as Smith got hammered every time he went back to pass.

I was hoping that maybe the vanilla offenses and defensive schemes were just to hide what they really plan to do in the season but now I'm not so sure.
