Suns (realistic) FA targets: Hayward, Deng, Gasol, Ariza and possibly Chris Bosh.

I'd rather have Tucker than Ariza for this current team. Deng would be an OK fallback option, he's pretty underrated and he's a very good defender. If we lose Tucker then he's probably the guy I'd replace him with.

I think our backup plan would be to get Gasol and Deng.

Dragic-Bledsoe-Deng-Morris-Gasol with Plumlee, Warren, Green, Goodwin, Ennis, Marcus Morris, Len, etc. off the bench.

Deng>Tucker>Ariza

I agree that PJ is a better fit than Ariza, but Deng is an instant upgrade over both of them. I hope that they sign him.

Only thing that sucks is he'd slow Warren's development down, but it's something we've gotta sacrifice for now. Deng makes us a much better team RIGHT NOW.

I'd love to see Warren make a big contribution right away, but playing behind someone like Deng could take the pressure off of him for his first couple of seasons.

I'm not as high as Deng on others happen to be. Over the last three seasons, he has shot .424 from the field; over the last two seasons, he has shot .313 on threes. He's only twenty-nine, but he has been in the NBA since he was nineteen and has twice led the league in minutes per game. His shooting rates could improve in this system, but he will also probably be on the downside of his career.

He is a really solid complementary player and he certainly offers more 'game' than Tucker, but especially given his erratic shooting, Deng is not necessarily a game-changer and not someone that I would soak too much money into.

To me, you first acquire a star (LeBron James, Kevin Love) and then consider whether Deng may constitute the final piece to the puzzle. If you start with Deng, you risk overspending for a guy who is essentially a role player—a really good one, but questionable as the kind of shooter that you need to spread the court for Dragic and Bledsoe.

Good. As long as we don't overpay him.

3 @ $15-17 mil would sound about right. Even though he turned down $6.8 mil, I think this is more than fair. But with other teams interested, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns into 3 @ $20 mil.

If the Cavs are serious about wanting him then we may have to overpay him. Golden State can't afford that though, so I think we're in pretty good shape. My guess is 3yr./18mil.

Rumor has it the Warriors are looking to steal him.

I think Chandler Parsons should be the guy the Suns target over Deng or Ariza.

YES. We've been linked to him a couple times, so maybe we're dark horse candidates for Parsons. He'd be a such a great fit for this team.

We would have to overpay for him so that Hou can't match. But it would be better money spent than using it Frye. Parsons would probably cost $8-10 a year, a number Hou will have trouble matching.
