The franchise tag deadline is March 5, and free agency opens March 13 -- though the negotiation window opens two days earlier. Not every team is extremely active in free agency, but usually every team picks up at least one key veteran.

I think this team CAN get better quickly.

Call me a homer but that is what I think.

I think Peters and Newmark have a plan and it will be aggressive. I am not saying we are going to trade up to #1 OR blow through all of our cap.

I am saying that I think we will see a stratetic approach to free agency, the draft, and trades. I see a big roster turnover....we have to!

I've been holding on to this for fear of being called a homer, but this division is there for the taking. If the Skins want to go win this division they can.

Harris saying "I can get you to 8-8 real quick," is my reminder that they are most likely gonna slow roll this thing.

I say we dangle one of our 2nd rounders.
That being said, we need to see how much he wants first.
He did not allow a TD apparently.

No trade unless an extension at a reasonable price is secured.

We need to secure some talent one way or another.

Unless there are some good free agents who can get the job done.
I literally have no confidence in the roster Rivera left.
Skinsdad is right...we need around 30 new players to right the ship.

It will take some time. We cannot do this all through the draft unfortunately.

Shutdown corners are hard to come by. We have two 2nd rounders. We would basically be trading Sweat for Sneed. A 9 to 10 sack DE for a shutdown corner. Wouldn't cripple the cap. His age fits our window and if you really want to chase other free agents, you just let Fuller walk.

I want to build through the draft.

However, we have to take some swings to get back in the game so to speak. We can bring in free agents as depth and use the draft to secure starting talent. That is an option.

It would be year 3 IMO before we could make any noise if we went that route. We need a shot in the arm with talent or its going to be a while before we even get to .500. I am not saying we go Rambo in free agency, but a combo of wise free agent pick ups, trades, and strategic drafting will put us on a good path.
