There are whispers that the market for Alshon Jeffery will not be as hot as first anticipated, some believing that he might be in play for $10M-12M/yr rather than the $14-$16M that was being thrown about initially.

Thoughts? Does this change some of your views for the Birds to be a serious player for his services if we can get him for $10-12M annually?

Nope. Not at any price. You put a guy that's already an injury risk in Philly you are paying for a lot of downtime.

I'd rather sign Stills, Pryor, or Garcon, than Britt.

Cleveland is going to go with Tyrod Taylor. The Bills are giving them a clean handoff for some reason.

Pryor and Cooks would eat up 30 million of the cap together. Plus Cooks would complain about being the number 2.

I'm OK with Britt. Then double up and draft Williams/Davis/Ross in the 1st. This is supposed to be a good draft, we should be keeping as many picks as we can to see what Douglas and co. are going to do with them.

If we get Britt I'm OK with trading a 2nd rounder for Cooks. I feel like they would push each other. And if Britt is making less than 10M and outperforms Cooks, Cooks won't have a case for 15M. Cooks alone doesn't transform the offense, but I could like him as a piece in a transformed offense.

Hyperbole, much?

It is not exciting news....but it means nothing as for Kelce being on roster come Sept. Maybe we can get something, anything for him. If not he might slot into a backup role.

I cannot agree that this says the coaches don't see what the problem is. There could be many factors at play there. They could have voiced he is a problem and the FO doesn't fully agree. A lot can go into it besides the coaching staff being both stupid AND blind.

Then you agree, "IF" Kelce starts this year, the coaching staff must be stupid and blind??

I think when most coaches see a problem, they get rid of it. I think most "starters" that return are still starters and rarely fade into backup. They usually get released or traded.

I do agree, my reaction might be premature, given there is still possibilities of him not starting or getting traded. It was a reaction to another post, stating that it looks like he is staying. if he stays, I think it's safe to assume he will be starting. But I stand by the opinion, that if he is here and starting this year, the coaches have made a huge mistake and are handicapping the OL and it makes me question their ability to recognize issues. As in all things, time will tell.

I'm not a big Kelce fan but I think having Seumalo next to him instead of Barbre will help a lot. I was really impressed with Seumalo when he played later in the year. Think he's a stud in the making.

Stills re-signed in Miami, 4 years, $32M w/ $20M guaranteed.

In some hindsight I'm good with this. I don't think Stills regularly comes close to last seasons numbers and was on of those inflated signings based on the market. Don't get me wrong....he would have been an improvement....but at what cost?

Well there was chatter up until a couple days ago that he was going to get $12M/yr in free agency. $8M is more in line with what he's likely worth, I thought it was a good signing for them.
