Brach might be somewhat over-worked... he had also pitched on 4 of the last 6 days (5/4, 5/5, 5/7, and 5/8).

Obviously, hindsight is 20-20... but if I were Buck, I might take my chances by using Nuño to cover the 6th and 7th innings since there was still a 3-run lead at that time.

Just looking at his body language the past couple of outings as the closer, he doesn't look like a guy that has a lot of confidence right now. He looks very shaky.

I'd argue that this one is partly on Buck. As I've said earlier this week: He could have used Nuño to eat innings when there was a 3-run lead during the 6th inning on Wednesday (leverage index = 1.06; win probability = 86.7%) as opposed to last night during the 8th inning of a tie game (leverage index = 1.82; win probability = 43.7%).

At least the Yankees also lost...

You can say that again. At this point what do they do with him? He has a option. Do they send him to AAA and tell him to figure out how to pitch?

I don't know how many more times they can throw him out there to get lit up.

That or throw him in the BP. He should not start another game until they think he has got his shit straight. Hell, I have more confidence in Ubaldo at this point.

well when bourn is ready does he take gentry spot and kim replaced by a bp arm ? I mean trey has to play who would ever think manny is barely beating out jj and Trumbo in avg . trey I have seen twice if not 3 times he gets a base hit and Trumbo is held at third or thrown out they was on 2nd base .

Doesn't Kim have a right of refusal to go down the minors? I thought that was the case last year when they wanted him down there to get at bats since he wasn't playing much due to Rickard being hot and using Reimold quite a bit.

I don't believe he has options. Of course the O's can cut him but I don't think that would be the smartest.

Rickard has options and Gentry can be cut or get rid of both and bring up Bourne and another pitcher.
