It happens. I'm glad he had the courage to admit he had a problem. 10-20 years ago he would have been laughed at for not "sucking it up".

Not a Jr fan but I can respect his decision and know that it was probably one of the hardest ones he's ever had to make. Glad to see he is wise enough to put his own health ahead of his passion.

He was getting killed by nascar drivers. Look like some shit you would do in a video game

He should be parked next race. At the very least, a massive penalty. It's one thing to bump a guy, its an entirely different thing to bump him again and then drive him off course into the barrier. People could have gotten seriously hurt. There are cameramen that just barely got out of the way (probably shouldn't be that close but still)

I think he'll get paid back when the Truck series starts their chase. It'd be pointless to do something to him in the final race before the chase since it won't affect his ability to make the chase.
I saw in the interview where he said some bs like "well, rubbin's racin and he would've done the same to me." I somehow doubt that Custer would've bumped him and when that didn't work, push him into the wall and kept him there to prevent him from winning the race. A tap to get him a little loose, sure, but not what ended up happening.

So Truex failed post race inspection again, yet he is still going to get a free ticket to the next round. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

They've been illegal pretty much all year. You can visibly see it on the race track. His sideskirts are lower and flared more than they should be

Martinsville is installing lights!!!!

Not many places left that won't have lights.

Talladega, Michigan, Sears Point, Watkins Glen, Dover, New Hampshire, Pocono, and Indianapolis are the tracks I can think of. More than I thought, but only 13 of the 36 races will be at tracks without lights.

Took their asses long enough. Should have done this like 25 years ago
Seeing a night race at Martinsville would definitely get me to seriously consider going to a race again for the first time in years.

Of those tracks, the one I'd like to see install lights would be Talladega.

A little silly season tidbit for 2017

Hearing that Baldwin has sold the #7 TBR charter to the #95 Circle Sport - Leavine Family Racing team.(They leased a charter from the #33 team for 2016). Supposedly Casey Mears will be the driver of the #95. Rumors have floated around that Ty Dillon would take over the #13 Germain Racing Chevy ride with increased support from Richard Childress Racing. No word if Baldwin would stay on as a part-owner or crew chief, move on to another team or keep running the #7 TBR team as an open team.

Phoenix installed lights, and i went to a few night races before i moved. And then they stopped scheduling a night race even though they have two dates.............makes sense lol

I get tracks having lights so if theres a weather delay, they can still run the event, but its just odd to spend that much money into installing them and then you stop scheduling.......a night race

id imagine putting lights in a road course would be difficult and probably not worth the money

I agree that there is some sense in tracks having lights when feasible to account for weather. NASCAR wants to try to runs races their advertised distance.

I suspect there'd be at least one scheduled Cup night race at Martinsville after they get the lights in. They may start with a Truck race under the lights to try to work the kinks in the system out first.

I don't think it'd be worth it on a road course either, but if I didn't include them some...wise guy...would probably have come along and played Captain Obvious. Around my house we learn to cover our rear when making a statement like that.

Another 2017 tidbit

UPDATE: hearing Biffle will leave Roush Fenway Racing and go to a second team fielded by JTG Daugherty Racing. No word if the team would secure a charter.(10-22-2016)
