That Edisto, took place a number of years ago in Richard Petty's pit that killed his brother-in-law. It wasn't a tire that blew up but a faulty air compressor contraption.

It's only a 1 year deal for Jones and Furniture Row. Sounds like someone will be leaving Gibbs at the end of 2017 for Jones. Hamlin's contract runs out this year, Edwards contract runs out in 2017. Busch and Kenseth have long term deals.

The owner of Furniture Row said at the press conference that the 77 would have a charter next year.

Been watching this Mid Ohio Xfinity road race. I've been enjoying it, especially with the rain and everyone slipping and sliding all over the track. Would love to see them try to use these rain tires at some courses in the Cup series.

NBC to add throwback coverage to Darlington Sprint Cup race: NBC Sports gears up for a throwback weekend of racing from Darlington highlighted by the NASCAR Sprint Cup series Bojangles' Southern 500 Sunday at 6:00pm/et on NBC. NBC Sports joins Darlington Raceway in celebrating the sights and sounds of the 1975-1984 era with throwback themes integrated into this weekend's coverage. In addition to traditional graphics and historic logos, NASCAR on NBC's on-air team will dress in their best time period apparel. Throughout the weekend NASCAR on NBC's pre-race set will be flanked by a series of old school cars from the decade. I really enjoyed Squier, Dale and Ned Jarrett when they were in the booth for about a 1/3 of the race last year. Probably the best announcing I've heard in NASCAR in a very long time.
