Kings would be 4-4 since the all star break if they only had to play 3 quarters....so there's that.

Buddy buckets is a good player and the Kings may have received the better trade in the long run. It's cool that 2 National Players of the year from Oklahoma are so close to each other now(Buddy and Blake).

This current Wizards lineup is so deadly because everyone can shoot.

Great end of game lineup as long as you're playing a small team.

Wall
Beal
Bogdanovic
Porter
Morris

Yep.
Def biggest threat to the Cavs as of now IMO.

i doubt it. The NBA has always been about high end talent.

You can win some regular season games with a hockey-like line change approach with a bunch of guys working hard- especially in the dog days of the season--- but in the playoffs when there is ample rest, and tightened rotations and the stars start playing more on defense- it is a lot different game. Itll always be a star-talent driven league at the top and less about system.

You are correct, but POSSIBLY this new CBA changes the future of the league.
The new max contract is insane. Contracts just below are also out of proportion.
Non worthy players are going to eat gaping amounts of cap space.

As you've stated, more players prob just keep the cash vs unite (which is the current path to rings).

As we are seeing, an injury can change things in a hurry for the very top heavy teams.

As far as the Heat, its just an example, not a homer thing, but they are much more then 'a bunch of guys working hard'.
There might not be 'superstars' here, but there is plenty of talent.
Basketball is the ultimate team game.
We are seeing exactly that.

Daily Bogdanovic update. 15 points tonight even though he is struggling from 3. What I like most about Bogdanovic is he's not just a specialist. He find other ways to score when the 3 ball is not dropping.

Best deadline moves.

1. Nurkic
2A-2B Bogdanovic-Ibaka

Cousins??
Not so much.

im loving the Celtics playing some mediocre ball too----

Cavs losing 5 of 7 and still 2 games up in the East is not something i expected...Toronto losing again tonight too.

seems like no one has been able to truly take advantage of the Cavs dissaray

if the Nugz hold on thatll be 6 losses in the last 10 for the Celtics.

You must not be paying attention to the Wiz?

why? by saying LeBron has improved his effieciency quite a bit his 3rd year i nCleveland as opposed to his first two years here? lol

Its just amazing to me that LeBron- at this point in his career- still finds things he can improve and works on them- its the mark of a truly all-time great talent.

I gotta tell ya- i didnt expect LEBron to shoot damn near 40% from three this year- i didntthi nk he was the 31%# pt shooter from last year either.

For a guy with his size and athletic ability to have that kind of weapon at his disposal this year is a BIG DEAL. If you cant even give LeBron a 3- what can you take away?

He improved his 3-point shot while in Miami. Shouldn't be a big surprise to see him top .400 every once in a while.

I had a feeling it would happen. GSW is coming off a ridiculous stretch. Went home for one game Wednesday night after a long east coast trip to play Boston. Back on the road tonight to play Minnesota and tmr in San Antonio.

Not a big deal to me. I'll be watching Heat/Raptors and the ACC finals at that time anyway

I pointed out last week how stupid there schedule was.
Long road trip, back home for 1, then a road back to back in different times zones.

Speaking of, Heat has 8pm start tonight, then has to fly to Indy which is a different time zone, plus clocks move forward tonight.
I'm not expecting to win that one, but if we do...watch out..
Tonight is the one we can't screw up.

Flying west should help them in this scenario, it will nullify the time change.

holy shit- Lakers were down 29 going into the 4th qtr. against the Mavs....ill tell ya- if there is one thing this iteration of the LAkers can do well- its tank!

The Mavs have been rebuilding for a year- and they have a core of Noel, Seth Curry, Barnes, Farrell, Powell - have a bunch of cap space.....there only bad contract is Wesley Mathews- who is 30 and id rather have him than Deng. .......i gotta say- its becoming questionable who's young core i would rather have- the Mavs or the Lakers- that def. changes though if the Lakers keep their pick and get one of Ball, Fultz, or Jackson- but if hte Lakers lose that pick, and the Mavs add a top 10 talent in this draft- its gotta swing to the Mavs- in year 1 of the rebuild- as opposed to like year 4.

So KERR is resting all of his players just as I suspected watching that Wolves game
Once Kawahi Leonard and Tony Parker were announced out, there was no reason to risk it.

Curry, Klay, Kawahi, Green, Parker, and Iguodala are not playing.
Pop is not sure about Ginobili and Aldridge.

The NBA has to be pissed.
They marketed the hell out of this thing. It was hyped considerably.

It is like slapping down $3000 for Hamilton tickets and finding out all the cast has the flu, and they found some replacements at the local high school drama team.

Itll always be a star-talent driven league at the top and less about system.

The NBA also used to be all about big men and dominating inside. Now, it's more about guards and 3 point shooting.

For several years, the NBA was about being physical and playing lock down defense, now it's about athleticism and high flying offense.

The point is, the league changes. Ever since the new CBA was signed, you have been saying that it means that far fewer top FA's are going to be switching teams. If that's truly the case, then the Warriors and Cavs may well represent the last of the "super teams" that were built by top players joining forces in FA.

If fewer top FA's are switching teams, then having solid role players and deeper benches will become even more important. Because now, the top teams will have 1, maybe 2 top level guys and their chances of winning a title will be about the quality of lower tier players they can put around them.

It's why the players who truly benefit from the current CBA, aren't the top FA's like Lebron, KD, etc. (they're going to get top dollar and still not be paid what they are actually worth) it's the next level guys who we've all been complaining are getting overpaid that truly benefit.

So, turnups point about having a team that can put solid players on the floor for a full 48 minutes could very well become exactly how the best teams are built going forward.

like saying a bumblebee is a bigger threat than an ant to a human.

You think?
I know it was regular season at Wiz, but we know it took a miracle for Cavs to win that game, PLUS, it was prob Loves best game as a Cav.

Since, Love is injured and team is playing terrible.
Since, Wiz improved their roster and is on fire.

Love the cockiness though.
I think we heard similar last Monday before Heat/Cavs game.

Would the Lakers still take Ball though if they get the 2nd pick with Russell already there? I think Jackson would be the best way to go unless they don't think Russell is their PG of the future.

If a guy like Fultz or Ball are available, I think the Lakers definitely take him and then either slide Russell over to the 2 (I think he fits there better anyway) or they trade him. Nick Young has played well this season, but he's going to be 32 in June and is unlikely to be around when the Lakers are relevant again, so they will need a young 2 to replace him. They have Clarkson, but he's a great one to have as the 6th man. If he keeps developing, I could see him being in the 6th man of the year convo for many times in the future.

You don't like Josh Jackson from Kansas as the 2 of the future?
