In a sad news story, Felipe Palino is no longer a Royals player and signed for $1.75m with the division opponent the Chicago White Sox...

For a money concience team, Felipe in the rotation scares me less than Hochavar at $5 million (who also could have gotten something in return)

KC Star today had Royals talking to Dodgers about Maxwell for Dee Gordon...getting any 2b prospect under 26 yrs old for Maxwell is a definately "yes" especially if it came from LAD.

Butler, who is scheduled to reach free agency after the 2014 season, hit .289/.374/.412 with 15 home runs and 82 RBI in 582 at-bats last season while playing all 162 games. He has missed just 11 games over the last five seasons.

The Royals could continue to shop Billy Butler since "Before too long, the DH spot has to be a rotating position for us. It really does," a club official tells Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star. For one, the Royals may use Salvador Perez at DH to keep his bat in the lineup when he isn't catching, plus added DH days would help keep Perez healthy. Even if Butler isn't dealt this offseason, Dutton doesn't believe the Royals will sign him to an extension once his current deal is up. It was reported earlier today that Butler's name had come up in trade talks with the Blue Jays.

with the Infante signing (still not sold that he will be twice the player Boni would be at 2b, but it is what it is) so Boni, catcher X, Dyson, Lough, Maxwell...on the bench now.

.and someone or two needs to go for someone who can play 3b...Boni can play 2b, ss in a pinch and OF, catcher X is needed...and the 3 of can't be sent down...now start offering any of the 3 for a 3b..

I would bet allot of money that Neddy puts Infante as the 2 hitter ( not the worst thing in the world, would prefer Hosmer or Gordon even, but whatever) and drop Gordon down to the 5 spot to get his "ribbies" as Neddy would say. I would also bet that Moose hits ahead of Cain.
