ok, so...

Aoki
Gordon
Hosmer
Butler/Beltran
Perez
Cain
Moose
Escobar
Boni/????

Or

Aoki
Escobar
Hosmer
Butler/Beltran
Perez
Gordon
Cain
Moose
Boni/????

Either way, it looks fast and exciting.

I think we have to trade Butler to the Mariners if the Royals are still serious about Beltran ( and it looks like they are) centered around Butler-Franklin. We would have a more flexible DH to use Beltran/Maxwell and a long-term solution at 2nd base. Bonifacio would also shift to a utility role potentially if all goes well with that trade. If not, he keeps his starting job.

if you look at Franklin's minor league and even MLB numbers...the guy likes the whiff...that usually doesn't bode well in MLB...for averages...he could realistically be a .240 hitter, career. over 120 strikeouts in the minors in any single season, over history, usually agrees.

Believe it or not, Franklin's 2013 value is essentially = Butler 2013 at DH

will look into his projection...don't like that he was brought up so early...numbers remind me of the White Sox mistake at 2b a few years ago...think the kid actually finally hit last year.

"the Yankees could pursue Shin-Soo Choo instead, USA Today's Bob Nightengale [ame=""]tweets[/ame]. The Yankees, of course, already have plenty of outfielders, with Alfonso Soriano, Brett Gardner and Ichiro Suzuki in addition to newcomer Jacoby Ellsbury, but after Cano, Choo is the next-best position player on the market."

So, If the Royals, do not get Beltran...the Yankees Soriano or Ichiro would be decent choices if the yankees want to dump them and pay a few bucks...

Aaron Crow could be converted back to starter NY, just FYI if your reading this, lol.

NYY wouldn't need Crow at all. However, I bet they would love to sign Choo which would help the Royals indirectly if they simply keep him away from the Tigers.

the yankees definately need and can use pitching, they keep going to the Pettite well, which dried up in what 2007?

Still can't believe they haven't grabbed a starting pitcher or two but it seems as though position players and relievers 1st, lol.

They will sign Kuroda and will have Pineda back ( I think so anyway if I recall) they will be fine with the rotation.

Can't say I would have liked the contract, but trading Butler to a Lincoln managed roster does sound tantalizing until I realize we have Dayton Moore as our Gm...

Kansas City Royals @Royals
#Royals acquire outfielder Norichika Aoki from the Brewers in exchange for left-handed pitcher Will Smith.

No matter how good W. Smith gets or doesn't, a great trade at a great value...much better than Fowler from the Rockies.

Fowler would have been much better than Aoki, the only advantage for Aoki is cost.

I still advocate signing Mark Ellis. I also support signing Scott Sizemore to a heavily incentive based deal to replace Tejada.

Hey if Ellis is 2 million, sign him...I actually like the Sizemore thought much better.

Dexter Fowler: He departs the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field with a loaded lineup around him in favor of the lowly Astros. Fowler is a career .241/.333/.361 hitter outside Coors Field and now he's hitting in a much worse lineup. My guess is his initial reaction upon learning of the trade wasn't a positive one.

thank you, will take Aoki at 2 million please.

and

Royals: Norichika Aoki is only going to make $1.95 million this season. He's coming off a year where he had a .356 on-base percentage, stole 20 bases and walked more times than he struck out. He'll make a fine leadoff man for Kansas City for the price of a fifth outfielder. Very solid trade by Dayton Moore.
