All it takes is one boom / upset game and once you're in the rankings, anything can happen.

Will be interesting to see which of those 8 teams will be among the final 4 schools for the CFB playoffs.

What are you talking about replacing the CB position?

1. I actually don't mind Herbstreit.
2. I don't think Michigan realistically has a shot at a national title this year. If this were a discussion about the B10 title, I'd have a different opinion.
Win the BIG 10 and you got a 99% chance you are in the Playoffs.

Guy left WVU off of his list, no wonder ESPN is tanking, their CFB people have no clue what they are talking about :L.

So what I hear you saying is....
Nebraska's got a chance???
Yes Sir. 4 more months of pounding your chest. Us BSU fans live for this time of year. We are world beaters until we travel to Wyoming....or play Air Force it seems anywhere.

That doesn't mean you have a chance at winning one. See what Alabama did to MSU or OSU in the playoffs.

Clemson? Deshaun Watson aint suiting up anymore. They'll be good sure, but don't think they'll contend just yet. LSU won't be a contender

Yeah, michigan has quite the illustrious playoff resume.
If you don't think that Michigan would be given the benefit of the doubt over a lesser name you are crazy. They got a BCS bowl game as the second lowest ranked team to get an at-large bid in the history of the BCS.

Just the way it is. Even though the CFP committee is made up of some folks representing "lesser names", the NAME still carries a lot of weight. Hell, the CFP chair is from one of the lesser names but no way a school like Texas Tech gets the benefit of the doubt over a Texas or Oklahoma. Same in every conference. The "lesser names"...even if they are P5s... have to remove all "benefit of the doubt" if the big names have similar records, SOS, etc.

And rightfully so.
Brand names bring eyeballs to TV sets and advertising dollars.

When programs have spent untold millions of dollars and generations building their brand and help put College Football in a position it is today, then they deserve the nod over a team that is riding their coat tails.

Oh, and you can thank Oklahoma for beating the fuck out of the NCAA in Federal Court and taking away their TV monopoly, so you guys can get paid today.

You don't think we paid a penalty for that over the years.
Damn Straight we did.

Your Welcome.
