So were the Jets then not relevant when they made it to the final 4 teams twice with Sanchez as their starter?

Right now we have no clue what will happen with Talib. 1) The police report does not support what you are saying here. The official police report says that Talib was the victim in a shooting and the shooter is unknown and at large. So if that is the case then Talib only being a victim I can't see how the league can suspend somebody just for getting shot. And also if it is the case that somebody else shot him then this is nowhere near the same case as Plaxico. Beyond that Plaxico shot himself in New York where gun laws are very strict compared to Talib in Texas where they are some of the most relaxed in the country. So very different sitautions.

Next 1) Miller did not turn down the $114 million. He disagreed with the guaranteed money side of the deal not the length or overall value. He has agreed to that part at this time. Mostly the deal is coming down to whether the first 2 years or first 3 years are fully guaranteed for the deal. 2) He is not threatening to sit out a year. Every year we hear that being a threat and nobody has done it. Throw in the two sides have stayed very respectful and from the sound of today's news are actually still meeting today to try and get something done.

Let's move onto the whole big contract destroying the team thing. Couple of differences here. 1) Von Miller is a Super Star compared to Joe Flacco who most don't even believe is a top-10 QB in this league. So average player compared to Super Star. 2) Broncos don't have a huge cap hit coming from the QB position so they can afford plenty. It is why they have the most cap space in the league next year. IF we signed Miller and Osweiler yeah I would agree with you the team would be in trouble down the road cap wise but with Lynch under a very team friendly deal they can afford Miller and still surround the team with talent. So no it is not a double standard. Very different situations with different level of players.

Man you really need to wake up and smell the coffee....Talib has told 2 different stories, the last one being that he shot himself.....
And Miller would not sign the Broncos offer of 114 mil so they took it off the table...Now he can take the tag for 14 mil this yr or sit out the yr....
That's where it's at right now...
And you just lost all credibility with me, if you are so homer infected that you can actually try to defend your big contract statement and try to say Miller is a super star and Joe is not...That's ludicrous in and of itself, but beyond that, it doesn't change the cap effect on the team....
You said it, it was stupid, and you own it !!!!

Dude. I'm stating my opinion (of course) just like everyone else is. I can start writing "IMOP" at the beginning of every post, but would rather not have to do that if at all possible.

Well when you make statements like "Mark Sanchez will never be able to duplicate" that to me seems like a pretty bold statement. Throw in the fact he already has done well in the playoffs kind of eliminates that argument from the beginning. Maybe you can say "From now on" but that would be taking a pretty wild leap as well and sound more like wishful thinking than backed by anything.

So pretty much the Broncos told him just please don't lose the game by throwing a stupid interception.

Right...I'm sure they felt they had to tell Peyton Manning that. Recognition has always been his downfall. He just never had any awareness.

Few things...

1) Right now all we have is the police report. The rest is hearsay when it comes to Talib. The police report says he was a victim and that the shooter is unknown. Beyond that it is just you speculating right now and well I would think after so many speculated against Ray Ray and Ravens fans got upset about that that you would be a bit more understanding of waiting until the evidence actually comes out.

2) The deal has NOT been pulled off the table. The media hype train gets crazy this time of year but it is nowhere near pulled off the table. Heck ownership itself has said they need just a bit to reevaluate and see what they can get figured out. I can promise you though if Miller came tomorrow and said he wants to sign that deal no way are the Broncos saying "Well we already pulled the deal so sorry."

3) Until we know the actual guaranteed part of the contract we know nothing of the deal. Again would think you Ravens fans would know this with how much you harped about the guaranteed side of Flacco's deal the first time he signed the largest QB deal ever. Until we know that for all we know the last 2 years of the deal are $30 million each that Miller would never see making the first 4-years average out to $13.5 million. That won't happen as it will be in the $18-19 million area on a per year basis but you get my point. Until we see how the contract is shaped we just can't know how much this helps or hurts the Broncos. Beyond that like I said we have our QB under a very team friendly deal at around $2 million a year for the next 4-years. So our QB and Miller will still cost less than Flacco alone on a per year basis. Throw in the Broncos have found themselves in a very good cap situation where they have lots of cap space and quite a few players on team friendly cost controlled deals plus 10 picks in the upcoming draft. 5 of those in the first 3 rounds. They are sitting well cap wise to do what they want.

Well when you are leading the league in interceptions while missing 7 games of the year yeah I would say I would tell him "just don't throw a pick." No you probably don't need to tell a HOF QB that but at the same time Manning is used to carrying a team on his back and needing to perform at a high level. Rarely in his career has he been able to just back not go and make the big mistake that cost the team the game and still win. It is driven into his mind that he has to be the man so little reminders here and there are not all bad.

Good effort, but I have a feeling you're casting your pearls before swine.

Oh it is true. Oldschool loves to just stick his nose into ours and the Patriots franchise and see if he can ruffle some feathers with no actual substance to his posts or actually responding to what is written. Just makes me think back to art class in high school when I was a terrible artist but my art teacher would say "Well I will give you an A for Effort."

Please don't , the Pats dead horse has been beat more than everyone in the Roots series

Well at least your dead horse isn't alone anymore. The Broncos dead horse of people telling us for years our team would collapse or that we could never win a Super Bowl with playoff choker Manning at the helm or whatever other crazy things they could spew would be said.

Please tell me you don't consider the Ravens' defense of 2012 to have been strong.

Who mentioned 2012? Historically that has been the ravens MO. Strong D, strong run. QB = after thought

As for Flacco 2012, even blind squirrels find a nut here and there. Ravens were a boneheaded safety away from going home. Please don't tell me there wasn't luck in 2012.

You guys are the reigning champs, comes with the turf. But nice to shut the critics and pundits out. You were 100% right with Manning doing very little and not turning the ball over, the D was good enough to win the game. That first fumble and quick 6 by your D set the tone.

Like I said the offense in the playoffs was about not losing the game more so than going out and winning it. The Super Bowl honestly Manning did down right terrible. 1 of 13 on third down as a team. Manning himself had 2 very costly turnovers. Thankfully our defense was lights out that day and our special teams contributed some major plays for us as well. Believe me I loved the time Manning had with our team. He contributed to our franchise in a big way. This past season though man was it tough to watch him. Defenses just knew he couldn't throw the deep ball. They absolutely dared him to go deep and only on a few rare occasions did it work out for us.

So let's see, the NFL, ESPN are reporting that Talib has told 2 stories, the latest as of earlier today was that he shot himself by accident.
But you know more than all those reporters, we should disregard anything they say negative about the Donkeys until we hear from you !!
Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And they are also reporting that in fact the deal has been technically taken off the table, explaining that Miller is not happy with it, and has 2 choices, sign the franchise and take the 14 mil this yr and hope to get a deal done later, or it is a possibility that he could sit out the whole season forcing them to make a deal or let him walk because they can't franchise him a second time if he sits out the yr...
But again we should check with their overseer cd know it all first before we believe any of these highly trained paid pros that you deem hacks....
Oh that's rich !!!!
And to ease your mind, I don't give a rat pellet what those bullet shooting child murderers up there do with their stall of Donkeys, I'm saying what is being reported by pros and you are trying to discount it all media hype...
Congratulations, you are now on the same level as a delusional Pats fan I know of on here....

I saw Mitch Morse gained a significant amount of weight over the offseason. Happy to see that, he needed to get bigger to get taken seriously as an elite center.
