Im hoping they pick Ragland at 15. leave Tree on the outside. Ragland is a beast and would be a big upgrade over JL55.

That would make giving Barron that big deal useless.

I think Tree could play Sam. Barron, Ragland, Tree. Or move him back to safety. Ayers wasn't very good last year.

I would love to have depth at LB, but get a MLB like Scooby later or the kid from Mass. LB and Dline depth gives me serious wood. :wank:

Still think CB/WR is the pick unless someone like Gurley (beast) would drop.

And I believe there are still some LBs out there in free agency. ??

I wouldn't mind them selecting Treadwell! But you gotta love the idea of Ragland playing the middle of our "D":wank:

I don't think that they will sign any more free agents. They would have done that by now, we are the Rams we depend on the draft!

I like the Ragland idea or Treadwell or best CB at 15. As far as Barron, I think Williams can come up with a whole bunch of ways to use him even if we have Ayers, Ragland and Tree. Williams can work into a 3-4 once in a while or overload blitz packages. Middle backer would be nice, I would like to see Tree stay outside if possible.

I'm not liking Ragland as a fit for the Rams. To me, he seems more of a 2 down run stuffer inside for a 3-4 defense. I think someone like Darron Lee would be a better fit if they are going to pick a LB in the first (or Jaylon Smith if they want a redshirt). Miles Jack would be ideal, but I can't imagine him dropping to 15. Josh Perry or Deion Jones on day 2 are worth a look as well.

I'm buying the Rams moving Tree to MLB (even if I think it's a waste of athletic talents). The Rams need to find another OLB, ideally a SAM to eventually replace Ayers, but that's not an easy commodity to find these days. All OLB prospects seem to be either edge rushers or WILLs.

Upgrades how? Talent? Based on what? What they did at Cal or NDSU? Against WEAK defenses? What did Goff do at Cal? I watched the guy throw 4 INTs vs Utah. Did he set any records? Nope. And Mannion did that in the Pac 12.

Not impressed at all in these QBs. I think they would all get murdered back there in the pocket, especially if our Oline or LT does not improve drastically.

I definitely favor Wentz over Goff. What did Wentz do at NDSU? Multiple National Championships?

Against what defenses? How many NFL players did Wentz play against? The hype over a pro day or after the combine never really makes me slobber. Plus you have a QB with a red jersey on. I said this on the 2016 draft chat... Speed of NFL defenses vs D2 defenses makes those skills Wentz has with a red jersey a big ???

He's also playing WITH D2 receivers and backs, being protected by a D2 line; it's all relative. He stood out at the Senior bowl and was easily the most complete looking QB in drills at the combine in my eyes.

If an NFL front 7 comes after him, doesn't matter who his WRs are. Point is that he's not used to that speed on D.

Remember how good Sam Bradford looked in a Red Jersey? On his pro day? Coug will tell you. ;)

Again, if Jameis and Mariota had difficulty.. I don't see how any rookie QB from this class comes in and does anything but hold a clipboard. Hell Bryce Petty was #3 QB on the Jets last year.

Yep SJ76. The hype every year pumps these guys up to near superman proportions and then they get to camp and find out they did all this crazy draft maneuvering to get a turd who holds a clipboard for a couple of years.

Not sure why you're hyping up Bryce Petty so much. He wasn't being projected as a top QB last year. CBS had him ranked as a future backup and compared him to Austin Davis, while they are projecting Wentz and Goff as good pro starters with pro bowl potential and are comparing them to Blake Bortles and Matt Ryan respectively (in fact, they're both rated better than Mariota). I have included Mannion's profile as well for comparisons.

2015 NFL Draft Profile: Bryce Petty

2016 NFL Draft Profile: Carson Wentz

2016 NFL Draft Profile: Jared Goff

2015 NFL Draft Profile: Sean Mannion

2015 NFL Draft Profile: Jameis Winston

2015 NFL Draft Profile: Marcus Mariota

Goff and Wentz rated higher than Mariota?? Just stop right there. That's stupid dumb. CBS = hacks. Go look at their Mocks. Most of them have Paxton Lynch at #15. I don't pay attention to more than 1/2 of these hacks.

If you watched college football in 2014-2015 you knew there were a good crop of QBs coming out. Last year was so bad a D2 QB is leading the pack of 2015-2016. End of story man.

Websites, publications, and even NFL teams all drink kool-aid.

2015 NFL Draft Profile: Marcus Mariota

Maybe their ratings are biased in the year they rate these guys, because look at MM's profile... :L See where it says Combine Top Performer with a star?? MM was the top performer of a stout QB class in 5 different categories. So how the HELL is he rated lower than Goff and Wentz?

Either way saying MM and Goff are in the same category is hilarious. No one knew who Goff really was when Mariota was in the Pac 12 at Oregon.

you'll see.. these 2 QBs are at the top of a class full of chumps.

This is for the D2 QB leading his draft class and for ALL the QBs wearing Red jerseys.

This sticks out in Carson Wentz's profile:

Broke a bone in his throwing wrist in October sidelining him for eight weeks. Dealt with arm and shoulder injuries as a baseball player in high school. Lower level of competition could cause issues for him adapting to NFL speed.

This sticks out with Goff:

Spent 99.8 percent of his pass snaps from pistol or shotgun this season. Will likely need to orient himself with NFL footwork from under center. Rhythm passer who benefited from the uptempo and "quick game" of Cal's Bear Raid offense. Not good for an offense with a running attack. Sounds perfect for Chip Kelly's plan in San Fran.

Able to escape pocket, but isn't a proven finisher when on the move. Fumbled the ball 24 times over the last three years losing 11. Sacked 81 times over three years.

LOL Someone please explain to me how this guy is ready to be a starter for anyone in the NFL?

Those criticisms of Goff are similar to what Carr's were coming out of Fresno State.
