Old RFK stadium with the bouncing seats was an home field advantage.

Maybe, I never checked out Jerry that close. My only complaint with ATT Stadium is it wasn't designed with just football in mind, it was designed for concerts. That stadium doesn't force crowd noise onto the field. I much rather have a smaller stadium that helps the fans claim they are louder than others.

I been there twice. I will admit it beats the shit out of the previous stadium. But I agree it was not designed as a football only venue. And I got the feeling Jerry was going for the my dick is bigger than yours vibe when I looked at the jumbotron from hell.

Now all that being said, I think Dan is going for the Star Trek the next generation look with this new design, but I still think it maintains the old school football should be an outdoor sport feel. Kinda like RKF on steroids, but with a less edgy feeling. I think it needs a bit more of the ominous feel. But we are in the kinder, gentler generation. So the RFK's, Oakland Coliseum type venues are a thing of the past.

I grew up 5 miles from where Fed Ex field is. I knew that location was going to go over like a fart in church. Mr. Cooke wanted to put it in Potomac Yards, Alexandria fought it and won. That would have been a good spot for it. Would have been cool to put it near the baseball stadium but there isn't enough room for parking and tailgaiting and that area is now developing at warp speed. It will be interesting to see where it goes.

My two family homes were 740 13th street and 811 17th street S.E. AKA walking distance to RFK, and 811 was situated in such a way that visiting teams buses drove past my grandmother house on Game day to get to the stadium. The problem with the RFK site is traffic pure and simple. There isnt really any place inside DC where they could put a stadium that would work.

In a perfect world stadiums will be built solely by team and NFL money. The only financial responsibility of the city/state is giving the land where the stadium is built and teams should have to pay that off over time from revenues. I will give Snyder props if he doesn't hold the city hostage.

Not a fan of Waldorf huh? Could you imagine the traffic coming down Route 5?

Old stadium area makes the most sense. Parking already exists. I'd love to see a 60 -70 thousand seat stadium inside the city.

Just south of there is the Congressional Cemetery. They could move those folks back to their home states, tear down the correctional facility and move it outside the city. LOL

Wouldn't you want the new stadium to have a retractable roof so you can host a Super Bowl?

Waldorf isn't too bad, I lived there 1990 - 1994. Met my wife at a bar/restaurant across the street from the mall. I remember a lot of people joked about Waldorf and talking about Maryland/DC brought back a few memories.

Waldorf sucks. Got out (alive) in 1999. Now south of there about 20 miles in a peaceful neighborhood, and loving it. Listen, this stadium design sucks. I'm all for the elements but if you're gonna build a new stadium then why not add a retractable roof. It makes no sense not too. Opened up in 70 degree weather and closed on rainy cold dismal snowy days. I might then even want to go to a game between the Skins and Jacksonville in december. Actually, fuck going to any game. Even between the rising Skins and descending girls. Got my HD 60 inch'r.

Listen, we can all agree Jerry Jones does a lot of things wrong. Drafting players, bringing in players, releasing players. Hell, he could just make life a little easier for everyone if he actually built a new stadium himself and put it next to the state prison, but he did do something right. He built a stadium that serves a purpose. Has hosted a SB and created a atmosphere that offers everything to all members of a family.

Why can't Snyder get out of his own way and think logically for a change. Build a stadium that can do more than just football and a fucking kayak boat ride.

Call me a troll, but doesn't it look like a Turkey serving tray?
Heh, made me laugh.

Looks more like a salad bowl or ant farm... with no given context to me:noidea:

You met your wife at Hooters? It was the orange shorts huh? Lived in Waldorf from 97-99 and again in 2005 and 2006. I am south of Coolaid now. Traffic in on Route 5 has changed a little in the past 22 years.

I think that is the first draft of a new stadium. Nothing concrete has been discussed and my guess is just trying to get the ball rolling.

I kind of like i even if it does resemble a potato chip. I like the moat idea too they can wall/fence it to be secure. I never understood why it had to be in DC, or Alexandria for that metter. I agree with Shark, those spots are too tight for parking. It will probably end up in VA, as long as it has subway access. Anything is better than what they have now.
