I cannot tell, you admit Stafford is an epic bust? How many play off wins does he have? None?

Maybe next year.

Is that the tune Lions fans have been whispering....every year?

If you consider a player in his 6th season as a bust because his team hasn't won a playoff game then have fun with that. Stafford is on track to be the most prolific passer by stats of all time. He was the fastest to 20,000 yards, was one of 5 guys to throw for 5000 yards in a season, and has over 4200 yards in each of his 4 complete seasons. He has at least 20 TDs in each of the last 4 seasons. Tebow has a total of 2455 yards and 17 TDs. Yea, but he's better than Stafford because his team won a playoff game. That's just ignorant! Maybe he's a better arm chair QB which is all he'll be from now on.

I did not ask a thing about Tebow. I am asking how you feel about Stafford being a bust. Which he is.

He sucks.

I definitely DO NOT agree Stafford is any kind of bust (we can name bust QBs, and he is nothing like them) but what you say above works for pretty much every position on the field but QB. I don't care what Stafford's stats end up being, he needs to have at least some playoff success for it to mean too much.

Yea, dual realities. I can be concerned with more than one thing at a time. Anyway, this has nothing to do with Stafford, this is about how much Tebow sucks.

Sure it's about Stafford, Tebow beat the Steelers in a playoff game in his 2nd yr and 1st as a starter of 8 games.
And you say he's trash....
But help me out here, just what did Stafford accomplish in his second yr, and has he ever even been in the playoffs, or actually won 1 ??
You need to lay off the pipe dude !! :rolleyes2:

So you think Mariota will be out of the league in 3 years too? Mariota is faster, has a stronger arm and is a far better passer. The only thing similar is they ran a spread option.

Dont have a crystal ball, time will tell. Tebow doesnt have the tangibles but has the heart of a lion and desire to win. If someone worked his mechanics, who knows. More than 3/4 of the QBs today dont have heart imo. Wilson doesnt have the skillset of a prototypical QB but has smarts and fire, big hearted kid

You're argument is basically no different than Dilfer is better than Marino because Dilfer won a Superbowl. It's ignorant and absurd. We are talking about a QB going into his 7th year who has put up fantastic numbers and has plenty of time to win those playoff games, maybe Superbowls, maybe end up in the hall of fame. We have no idea at this point but I do know that we are comparing him to a guy who was so pitiful that he busted out of the league after 3 seasons. And you geniuses think he's better because his team won a playoff game? You guys are either trying to piss me off (which won't happen) or you simply don't know shit about football. Either way, there's no reason to keep going back and forth with you about Stafford. It has nothing to do with the thread. I'll leave you both with this though. October 30th, 2011, Detroit @ Denver, the only time Stafford and Tebow led teams faced off. Stafford went 21 for 30 for 267 yards and 3 TDs with a QBR of 96. Tebow went 18 of 39 for 172 yards with 1 TD (4th qtr heroics) and 1 INT with a QBR of 3.7. Detroit butt fucked Denver 45-10. Or the way you geniuses see it, Stafford punked Tebow 45-10 in his yard in their only head-to-head matchup. But of course those of us who know football know that that was a team effort, not a QB face off.

Believe me, I know. He's already the best Detroit QB of my lifetime, which I'm happy and sad about at the same time, but making the playoffs isn't enough anymore. They need to win. He was drafted to arguably the worst team of all time and it took time to get enough talent around him but the excuses are gone. There's too much talent and the coaching staff is too good for missing the playoffs and one-and-dones.

Let us look at the great Stafford. (Keep in mind the Lions spend 28 million dollars on WRs which is more than any team and they pay their TEs top 10 in the NFL)

This will make you laugh, considering counts 17 million against the cap.

Since that "Great season" where he put up pretty fantasy yards.

2011 5,038 yards 41TDs
2012 4,967 Yards 20TDs
2013 4,650 Yards 29TDs
2014 4,257 Yards 22TDs

He or Bradford. Which is worse?

Poor Lions fan. Maybe next year. Maybe.

For about 7 years people have been saying Tebow needs to fix his mechanics. There have been reports pretty much every year that he has fixed his mechanics. But when a person, any person, does the same thing for 5, 10, 15 years learning the game it's hard to change. When under fire the bad habits creep in. Plus he already has a fairly weak arm. If he can't wind up it will likely be more weak. And arm strength isn't about weights, you kind of have it or you don't. This would be his 6th season, correct? If his mechanics aren't fixed by now, how can anyone expect that they ever will be? I mean there is no if someone worked on his mechanics. They've been working on his mechanics since before his combine.

As far as Wilson, I don't know if I agree. Coming out of college the only problem I saw with him is he's short. He was a pocket passer at NC State. He was certainly a pocket passer at Wisconsin. He gets to the NFL and people want to paint him as a spread option QB because they use some spread option. They do it because he can. Detroit doesn't use a spread option but Stafford actually took more (or maybe it was a higher percentage of) shotgun snaps than Wilson did last year. He has a lot of arm talent IMO.

Stafford is the 10th highest paid QB in the league. Probably about where he should be for what he's given the team. You can paint it any way you want, he's not a bust. These numbers say he's not a bust. The film says he's not a bust. Seeing that the team signed him to this contract, they don't feel he's a bust. And Tebow is out of the league.

You ignorant moron, you have talked out of both sides of your mouth this whole thread and continue to solidify your irrelevance....
Step back now Corky and listen closely, you are comparing qb's in one game but not understanding that each of them are going against different D's....
If I remember Detroit has had a very solid D since Stafford has been there...
Denver had a shaky team all around when T was there, the Oline was terrible too, and who did he have to throw to, while Stafford had Megatron ????.....
And Dilfer/Marino is a perfect example for this debate, Marino with all his talent, a HOF coach and players around him still could not win a SB....
Dilfer on the other hand, not extremely talented, but with a good team around him, won a SB....
The crux is this, if a qb has a good team around him, he don't have to be superfly the qb stat king to win a SB, and super talented stat padders don't win with bad teams around them....
In Detroit's case though, Stafford can't win even with a good team around him....So in your Einstein estimation, he has to be a bum....And I agree !!!!
You are right about one thing though, you are done, exposed, made a fool of...., Now go home little man...:D

Yea, you think Tebow is good but I'm the ignorant moron? OK! Like I said, I understand completely that football is a team game. I understand it takes everyone in concert to win. You don't seem to get it though. If you remember that Detroit has had a very strong defense since Stafford has been their it just solidifies that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Go over to the Detroit board and tell the Lions fans that Detroit has had a great defense the last 6 years and see the backlash. Last year Detroit had a fantastic defense. I don't believe they ranked in the top half of the league in any other year. They lived off of offense, they lived off of Stafford's arm. Denver on the other hand, their defense was fantastic when they went on that playoff run. Tebow and the offense was scoring, what maybe 17 points a game? You're trying to tell me the defense sucked? That's just fucking nonsense. And what's Demaryius Thomas, chopped liver? Again, he's the guy that made the play that has you hanging off of Tebow's nuts in the first place. I mean Denver was so talentless around Tebow that Peyton Manning took essentially the same team to the Superbowl the next year. And as a Baltimore fan you should already know this but your knowledge of football shows. Baltimore won the Superbowl on the back of a great defense just like Tebow's playoff game. Miami didn't win with Marino because they tried to live off of his arm just like Detroit before last season. And at the end of the day as long as you're in the Tebow should be playing, Tebow should get a shot, Tebow is better than this guy or that guy camp you're not going to make a fool of anyone.

Tim has proven he can win at the NFL level

So has Jim Druckenmiller.

Seriously: anyone who thinks Tim Tebow is anywhere near good enough to play at the NFL Level honestly needs to be sterilized. He seems like a great guy, but the dude SUCKS OUT LOUD. He's not unemployed because NFL GMs are stupid.

That should really be the end of it, but for some reason people still believe in this guy. :what:

Who said he was? Oh, no one here.

Oh, wait. Me saying that his throwing motion was overly tinkered with and he proved he is a play maker is what deeply offends the perpetual Tebow ehem, Christian haters?

Before people say Reggie White or Russell Wilson were or are not hated for their outspoken beliefs, have a short memory.

A lot Russell Wilson hate. People actually think he sucks, even though he has indeed accomplished more than Andrew Luck. Who, supposedly has no talent even though the Colts have made the play offs the last 3 seasons.

Anywho....

Tebow haters continue to make me laugh. I will be waiting for anyone to show me where anyone said he was a great QB in this thread.

Anyone notice what I am doing to all of the Christian hating, errrrrrrr, Tebow haters in this thread?

Let me start by saying I think I've been following football longer then you, I could be wrong, but I've been around for a long while.

Now onto why your wrong. I actually think it's been covered, but I'll go over it again. First off the year Tebow was the starting QB for the Broncos, the Broncos defense was playing out of their minds. Despite repeated 3 and out, they held the opposition to very little. In fact so little that all it took is one successful throw or play for a TD to pull out the game. It really was amazing to see what a great job the defense did that year for the Broncos. On the other hand, the Lions defense up to this year has been lacking in a big way. You should take the word of a die hard Lions fan for this and I'm in full agreement with his assessment of the Lions defense over the years.
