Absolutely. You can't respect the handshake line, you are the lowest of the low. Dino Ciccarelli shook Claude Lemieux's hand after that Wings/Avs debacle. It is not the place to air petty grievances. That's what the game if for.

I don't care what just happened to him. You need to respect the tradition. The handshake line is not about you. Or any individual.
THIS. So much this.

Marty Brodeur refused to shake Sean Avery's hand in the handshake line...

/To be honest, I'd probably do the same.

how many sitdowns does Neely have to have with him ... wasnt it enough that neely told him to apologize for the comments about vancouver after the incident outside the roxy

Weise was moving by him and Lucic pulled him back with soem force to say what he said to him ... if Weise says "oh nothing happened" postgame, does anyone honestly think that stops the media attention ???

we havent seen or heard the last of Lucic in terms of douchebaggery on or off-ice ... When is Greek days in Kitsilano this summer? mark the calendar

That's the big point. He went out of his way to be a dick. He needed to make a point of being a dick.

And my saying PK "gets it" was not about the handshake line exactly. It's about rising above things and not being dragged into douchebaggery. To a degree Weise and Emelin did as well. They just nodded and moved on and didn't fire back in the line.

I liked the locker room comments where Lucic was mad about a Habs goal celebration. Imagine if PK or Ovechkin or some lazy European would have done Lucic's empty net celebration. Or the flexing.

I'm not trying to stir up any shit with this; I just found the part in bold funny as hell.

I was at the game in Boston on May 10 with my girlfriend. We were wearing Montreal jerseys. We’re from New Brunswick and love our team, the Habs.

We are quiet people, we weren’t going there to cause trouble. We actually didn’t even stand up when the Habs scored.

But we got called f-----g stupid Canadians, we were told to go back to Canada, I was called a French f-g — t — all that happened while the play was going on. Then between periods, I had to use the washroom. That was my biggest mistake. I was called the same, was shoved and punched. I’m surprised I got out of there without fighting, but I managed to find my way out. After that point I understood I had to stay in my seat, so I did.

After the final whistle, while people were walking out of their rows we stayed at our seats to let the crowd out, so we wouldn’t have to deal with the fans. Then a fan just stood on top of my 98 pound, 4’11” girlfriend and spilled a full beer on top of her head while she was looking at him. Luckily, I didn’t see this — she only told me after we left —because there would have been a guy flying off the balcony.

Letter: Canadiens fan says he regrets attending playoff game at Boston?s TD Garden

How about Brad Marchand and Matt Bartkowski to Edmonton for Nail Yakupov?

Let's talk about the other exchange that was caught on Danny Briere's mic, it's much nicer. Briere and Bergeron

DB: Belle saison bud.
PB: va chercher ça gros.
DB: Merci Pat.

DB: Great season, bud
PB: Go take it
DB: Thanks, Pat

CapGeek @capgeek
It is believed Iginla hit $3.7M of his bonuses. Missed on $250K for not winning Stanley Cup and another $250K for not winning three rounds.

CapGeek @capgeek
So it's Iginla's bonuses, plus any earned by Krug, Hamilton and others, that should come directly off the #Bruins 2014-15 cap.

Bruins going into next season with ~$4 million less cap space than other teams because of performance bonuses pushed them over this year's salary cap

On capgeek it says their projected space would be $7,499,940, would that mean it's going to be $3,499,940 then? I'm not sure if they've already counted that or not

So is that all that will happen to them? You exceed the cap and all it does is take a chunk out of next season's cap? Seems like there should be a draft pick penalty, or fines too...

capgeek goodness follows:

Under the collective bargaining agreement struck in 2013, a performance bonus cushion is in place for all years of the deal, including the last one in 2021-22.

The performance bonus cushion allows teams to exceed the upper limit with performance bonuses to a maximum of 7.5 percent of the upper limit.

For example, if the upper limit is $64,300,000, teams can exceed it by $4,822,500 in performance bonuses. Any performances bonuses in excess of that total do not fall into the cushion and are counted as part of the team's cap payroll.

Any performance bonuses actually earned at season's end (ie. for games played, awards, all-star teams, etc.) are then added to the team's final cap payroll. The catch with the cushion is that if the bonuses earned at year's end push the team past the upper limit, the overage is carried over as a penalty the following season.

The 2009-10 Chicago Blackhawks are the most famous example of a bonus overage. Bonuses earned by the likes of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews following their Stanley Cup win pushed the Blackhawks' final cap payroll $4,157,753 past the upper limit. As a result, the $4,157,753 overage reduced their 2010-11 upper limit from $59,400,000 to $55,242,247 million. That, in part, resulted in the trading of Kris Versteeg, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien, Brian Campbell, and others.

So is it safe to say that Iggy won't be playing in beantown next season?

I think the Bruins want to bring him back, but they obviously have to take a look at their cap situation and may have to look at moving some other players to provide the necessary cap space.

/All depends on what the final cap number turns out to be - Original estimates were pegging it at 71 million, but it could turn out to be more like 68 to 69 million.
