Suddenly the players are really good and now Magic Johnson and Pelinka are thinking about moving the free agency to 2019 for several reasons

The Lakers realize that LeBron to Los Angeles is not likely to happen @ChiefsLakers67 will be extremely happy about this - lol

The Lakers chances of landing Paul George have diminished

If this squad as improved enough to win 50% of the time, then missing the playoffs would disappear

Another good thing about waiting is Luol Deng would become an expiring contract so they could waive him next summer and stretch his salary which would come out to 3.6 million instead of 18 million for the 2019 season, but as an expiring contract - there almost always is some one looking to take him for a draft and to unload better talent.

Most important - Lonzo Ball, Kuzma and the entire gang will be a much improved team that might be ready to do more with only one good signing

My last thought is - If Paul George is still serious about coming to the Lakers - they could still be a pretty good team next year, but that would depend on If George is willing to wait a year or two be on a contending team vs the opportunity to be on one this summer. I kind of thought he was long shot any way.

That statement from the Lakers basically means this: "Stop sending us low ball offers for Clarkson and Randle. They are available, but will not be given away."

Interesting news, I've had Lebron to the Lakers for a while now. If they don't sign him, wonder where he goes. I doubt he's a Cav next year.

Lebron will go to either Lakers, Clippers, Cavs, Sixers or Spurs.

With Harden and Paul? Hard to see how that is possible or would work.
Yeah, I said the same about Paul and Harden.

Sacrifices will need to be made.

But, replacing Ariza, who will be UFA, with Bron could be as big a boon as replacing Harrison Barnes with Durant.

I just don't see it. I agree that I really didn't see Harden and Paul working out. But adding LJ to that just seems crazy. 3 ball dominant players makes no sense to me.

He'll go to a team loaded with talent.

LeBron on the Sixers would be cool to see. he could teach those young guns how to be a winner.

The Sixers make a lot of sense for Lebron in that it would give Lebron pretty much as much control of the game as he wanted. Simmons isn't a guy that demands the ball all the time. Neither is Embiid.

But the Sixers are certainly a riskier choice when it comes to winning a title than, say, the Spurs or Rockets. But a Lebron led Sixers would certainly be a good matchup for the Warriors given the length they could put on the floor.

Capela is a FA, they'd have to let him and Ariza walk, and that still doesn't add up to James' max contract. He's said he won't take a cut in pay. They'd have to let a few others go and that'd be a hell of a trio but dampen their depth quite a bit.

If it were 3 years ago, agree.

But, LeBron doesn't seem to be in the teaching phase of his career.

So, I don't see him going to a young team.

Again: I have been wrong before and said the same about him joining the Cavs again.

With the Lakers now a serious longshot and him not going to the Clippers......the Rockets have too much work to do.....I think the Sixers will be the team he goes to. Still in the EC and they have a lot of young talent.
