Alex has always been under rated in my opinion. He is capable of leading his next team.
Or recently retired. Don’t forget about your high regard for Palmer.I think Smith is 8-12 in QBs personally. Based on preference.
And four of the guys ahead of him are old or on IR.

4 out the 5 playoff losses they scored 21 or fewer. Averaged 26 points per game, not 27, but they actually scored that many 3 times and went 2-1 in those games. The only loss that they scored enough that they should have won was the game against Indy. The others they lost 20-17, 27-20 (in New England), 18-16, and 22-21.Any team currently in the market for a QB would be making a massive upgrade by adding Smith. If you want to blame him for pkayoff losses where his teams scored 27 PPG I think you're making a mistake . Guy has done nothing but win for 6 straight years now.
Sure and they should've won 2 of those games but didn't . Not because of anything Smith related . Not every win and loss is attributed to the QB4 out the 5 playoff losses they scored 21 or fewer. Arizona would have won the division this year if Alex Smith was their QB
AZ went 8-8 with steaming horseshit at QB. Thinking they win 11 by adding Smith is not crazy . In fact it's not even a stretchI think you are overrating Smith. He is a good QB, but saying AZ would have won the division is a bit far. Smith has done well when surrounded by good talent on offense but struggles to elevate play around him. Without a good RB and good pass protection, AZ would not have won the division with ASmith.

IMO, the only teams that really makes sense (paying the trade price, and the cap hit price) to trade for A Smith would be DEN #1, they are built to win with his skill set. AZ #2...maybe a little further away from a title even with Smith, but add David Johnson, and Fitz back in the fold with those DEF pcs...it's a 10 win team with Smith as the triggerman.

Johnson could have come back around Christmas. It was smart to keep him out for the year. Not unfair, and lets not forget they will be adding one of the best RB's on the planet next season

Keim has done a damn good job as GM. This off season is by far his toughest challenge. No Doubt, and complete domination isnt out of the question, considering it was his wrist, and not a lower body injury........
They really need to figure out a way not to waste his prime, especially if Fitz walks away....That front office has work to do
You and me both. The Cards got Warner at age 33 so fans are acting like "why not Smith"? It's silly.
Warner played his best on the biggest stages, Smith is just the opposite.
I see Smith as a guy that can look good until the bright lights are on him. Sure he can bridge the gap, but they aren't making a deep playoff push with him. Maybe I am wrong. I just assume you tank for a year or two and stock pile some high draft picks. Give the new coach, whoever that may be, a clean slate.
Most people here seem to think it makes sense. Maybe it does. Who knows.
