"If we avoid playing good teams, then people won't know we're not that good until we're in the playoffs."

That doesn't sound appealing to me.

Welcome to the last two years of B1G football.

And when were these seasons? In the last 15 seasons USC has played a road OOC game at that teams stadium every season except when Alabama would only do a neutral game and Syracuse wanted to play Met life stadium. But other than that USC has traveled to play OOC games every year.
I see you can't defend that Alabama just doesn't do any at all.
Let me guess , you can't count at all?

"Other than the times we played at neutral sites we travel"...well fucking duh. Other than the years we played at a neutral site we played home and home too.

Pretending that 2 neutral site games are less competitive that a home and home is something that only exists in your mind.

Last year was disappointing. Too bad OSU couldn't have run over Alabama in the CFP. Again.

See, 42-35 is not running over anybody. 31-0 and 38-0, that's running over you with a bus.

A 12-1 conference champ has never missed the playoff and that certainly wasn't changing with a 12-1 OSU. I know fans don't want to hear it but tough OOC games are high risk , low reward . You can't control much in your schedule so you certainly don't need to play tough OOC games especially if you're a blue blood. There's no point to it
"There's no point in playing a tough OOC game", if the playoff committee doesn't require you to. It's all about what criteria the committee requires for a team to get into the playoff. Apparently playing a tough OOC schudule isn't very high on that criteria list.

Ah. That makes sense. I was going to lose my shit if a Buckeye fan had you wear that.

I will say, you paid your debt to me right in the nick of time. I've since come up with my "pecker love" series of avis.

@7Samurai13 is a class guy ... I just wish it was due to a Michigan victory ... next year

2014 OSU got clubbed at home by a shitty VT team, 2015 Bama got torched by a pedestrian Ole Miss, 2017 Clemson lost to a 4-8 team . Teams lose games . What they can't do is lose more than 1. That's why you're stupid to voluntarily schedule one you could lose. When you're Bama, OSU, USC etc you're getting in with 1 loss. Doesn't matter who it's to ( see Clemson this year or last ). That's a HUGE advantage most programs don't have wasting it is insane

Seriously though, there's not a huge sample of what it takes to get into the CFP or not. Circumstances are different every year. OSU got in in '14 after the loss to VT - that doesn't guarantee it would have worked in '17 with the loss to Iowa.

I think you've decided things are carved in stone based on not enough info.

Who in the playoffs didn't play a tough team?

Man o man. Sad day when I see an otherwise proud Alabama fan swinging from the Tigers' nuts like he's a Flying Wallenda!

Hey, did you hear the one about what do Zeke Elliott and Forest Gump have in common?

The only criteria that's held every year is A. Have one loss or less and B. Win your league CCG IF you make the game . SoS, OOC, league titles etc are all apparently arbitrary. The two things I listed are not

That is probably true "every" other year. USC travels to South Bend every other year to play Notre Dame for an OOC game. Next year USC will travel to Austin Texas to play the Longhorns, in a "home and home" series.

@Rolltide94 , just curious what year USC didn't play road OOC games. You going back to the 90's? 80's?

2002- USC played @ Kansas State
2003- USC played @Auburn and @ Notre dame
2004- USC played @ Viginia tech
2005- USC played @Hawaii and @ Notre dame

2007-USC Played @ Nebraska and @Notre Dame
2008- USC played @Viginia
2009- USC played @ Ohio State and @Notre dame

LOL. Yeah out of 15 years USC played in 19 true road OOC games.
In 15 years Alabama has played 2 true road OOC games and both were more than ten years ago.
Pretending you even play road OOC games is pretty funny.

Welcome to the last two years of B1G football.
Whooped OK at their house last year. Not to scared to schedule a H/H with them either. More than Bama can say about OOC schedules. Maybe Mercer will do a H/H with Bama...

That's why I said win it IF you make it. You're better off not making it than you are making it and losing it

Apparently you believe 6-6 Western Michigan, 6-6 Texas and 9-3 Notre Dame is all world, and clearly better than 6-6 FSU, 7-5 Colorado St and 9-4 Fresno St...but meh.

Now you could point out that we got to play Mercer as well, but then you I would have to point out that you get to play Oregon St. You could pretend they were better than Mercer, but since their only win was a 3 point win over 0-11 FCS Portland State who would believe you.

Alabama played the #3 ranked team that many had being the National Champs ... Florida State. The ass whoopin' Alabama gave then sent them is disarray.
