Watch it Gandy! Reason is a 4 letter word in Tennessee. Then again most are a 4 letter word down there because they try their best to keep everything to a one syllable word...

Top 5 CB's

1 Darrelle Revis Until his knee shows me otherwise Sherman stays at #2
2 Richard Sherman See above, these two are truly interchangable IMO
3 Peanut Tillman Not only does he cover, does the intangibles other CB can't
4 Brandon Flowers To me does not get the accolades he deserves being in KC
5 Patrick Peterson Just might be best athlete in NFL! Will climb this list.

5ABC
Joe Haden, Tim Jennings, Antonio Cromartie... feel these three could easily be at 5. It is scary to see two Bears this high up. Might be best tandem in NFL.

I'd have to go with the same 5 Gandy. But I'd drop Revis to 3, and give Peanut the two spot. But Revis would jump back to #1 by about week 3, if he is himself.

It's flat out wrong, is the point. Neither of those players are top 5 and would be hard pressed to be considered top 10 in their respective positions. Maybe you should try using reason the next time you post something.

This is my reason for that post. Quit picking on hillbilly's. Not my fault where ma and pa raised me. Don't be hating cause you uppers add syllables to every word.

Proper pronunciation is resn down yonder if you need to know.

:agree:as I stated, until I see otherwise. These guys are not loosing any speed and agility after ACL tears these days.

Plus Sherman irritates me with his mouth. Show up to work and do your job professionally!!! Don't hear CJ, AP or Revis running their slit beneath the nostrils. They just prove their case on the field.

Nice work staying on course Gandy... we got a bit off track yesterday.

Let's leave safeties open for the day and do the CBs as well... should be some good debate at both positions...

CBs:
1.) Patrick Peterson
2.) Richard Sherman
3.) Darrelle Revis
4.) Charles Tillman
5.) Ike Taylor

Honorable mention to Keenan Lewis.

I gave Peterson the edge because I think he's primed for a breakout year. Sherman could easily be the #1 as well... Revis may be right back at the top, too if he returns to form from his injury. Peanut Tillman is the best all-around CB of our era- Tons of tackles, defends the pass and while his INTs aren't all that high, he causes turnovers by forcing fumbles like a machine. Taylor had the lowest completion percentage in the league against him last year.

Safeties:
1.) Eric Weddle
2.) Jairus Byrd
3.) Earl Thomas
4.) Morgan Burnett
5.) Reshad Jones

Weddle is the best all-around safety in the league, imo. Byrd should over-take him soon though. Thomas is dynamic. Burnett has been outstanding for two years in a row now, which sucks for us. Jones is maybe under the radar some, but was a monster last year...

It is looking like each position should have been it's own thread.

Lol, he's obviously with the Bills, just choosing to minimize injury while having to play the season on a one-year mega deal.

The Bills would be wise to pay-up so he doesn't get away next offseason...

Imo Revis, Sherman and Peterson are cover CBs in a league by themselves. Peanut is in another league of his own as an all-around defender.

It's those 4 and everyone else at CB. There's a nice group of 6 or 7 guys after that who make up the next wave...

Its cool to see everyones different choices of their top players and their rationale behind it. Peyton is a top five player, every guy that went thru indy he turned into a stud. Barry sanders never won a super bowl and im pretty sure most would agree hes the best rb or if not pretty damn close. Peyton has won a super bowl made the colts amazing (look how much they dropped off when he left) and has quickly turned the broncos elite. Imagine what peyton could have done with the patriots or steelers wow. I dont even like the guy, in fact cant really stand him but hes the man. Sjax is 30 and might do decent on the falcons for a year but now its the teams turn to carry the player. For years jackson was a beast and top five on an awful team have to give him props for that. Now most of his tds and yards will be due to a dominant offense.

Not that Leshoure is a beast, however he scored after passing inside the 5 yard line. Not that he carried us into the redzone. Same scenario to me with SJax now in Hotlanta.

Steven Jackson the last four years:

games 15-16-15-16 very surprising he has only missed 2 games, it seems he is always injured.

attempts 324-330-260-257 has gone down per game each year

yards 1416-1241-1145-1042 once again has gone down each year

tds 4-6-5-4 .306 per game

yds/ attampt 4.4-3.8-4.4-4.1 4.1 total

yds/game 94.4-77.6-76.3-65.1 goes down each year 78.1 total

Yes Atlanta's line should help him, but that alone should not bump his stats to top 5 RBs
This is a pretty good post. Jackson is good but progressively breaking down. When the Rams went 7-9 in Bradford's rookie year, Jackson was hurt pretty much all year but still played through most of it. He is missing that extra gear that he used to have 4+ years ago but he is still decent and doesn't turn the ball over. I'm not sure he's a top 10 RB anymore.

Top 5 RBs: Peterson, Lynch, Rice, Gore, Morris. I hesitate to put guys like Spiller and Charles up.

He's ALWAYS hurt!

To me hurt is out. He is always probable or questionable? Yes. Always plays and is never on the doubtful or out list. Now these nagging injuries may hamper his production.

So ALWAYS dinged up...yes not hurt:noidea:

I guess today is LBs then.

I was thinking we should do three separate lists, MLBs, 4-3 OLBs, and 3-4 OLBs, since they're three separate positions...
