I'm curious to see who you guys think the top 5 are at every respective position across the league.

In the interest of keeping a clean form I'm going to post a position group to cover each day, rather than everyone listing all their's at once. I feel like this will facilitate better discussion among the less glamorous position groups.

Let's start with the least glamorous and work backwards to the QBs-

Today's group shall be kickers and punters. Still do a top 5 for each, but I figured we didn't want to spend two days covering kicking specialists...

Kicker:
1. Blair Walsh, Vikings
2. Sebastian Janikowski, Raiders
3. Phil Dawson, Browns
4. Stephen Gostkowski, Patriots
5. Rian Lindell, Bills

Punter:
1. Andy Lee, 49ers
2. Pat McAfee, Colts
3. Shane Lechler, Texans
4. Donnie Jones, Rams
5. Thomas Morstead, Saints

Feel free to tear into my list, but I think those are the top 5 kickers and punters in the league right now...

I know nobody cares about kickers much, but let's get some more lists up there and get the debate going a bit.

But I think you way undervalue the colquits, they are both awesome, I can see Andy Lee being 1 though

Bironas and Bryant both were in consideration for me, and honestly I could swap either guy in for Lindell at #5 and be perfectly happy. I put Walsh at #1 because going 10 for 10 from beyond 50 yards is insane, but I can see the merit of bumping him down a bit due to lack of overall experience.

Punters:
Shane Leckler
Dustin Colquit
Andy Lee
Brian Moorman
Britton Colquit

Looks like we had a bit more divergence at punter. We agree on Lechler and Lee, though, and for me it's those two, McAfee, and then everyone else. There's a group of 7 or 8 pretty damn good punters in that next wave with Jones, Colquit x2, Moorman, Morstead, Scifres, Anger, etc...

That would be nice but you must be kidding. This is a big year for him. He was short of weapons last season but his accuracy was very inconsistent. This is a big year for him. Ever hear of a guy named Manning ? Plays for the Broncos ?

Go Lions !

I had Anger in there initially, but went with the other Colquit. It was based solely on my brother being a giant Broncos homer and always tells me how good he is.

Peyton Manning sucks. Worst playoff QB in the history of the NFL (literally and factually). You can have him.

I was going to put Matt Ryan there but Stafford has the stronger arm. Plus I felt like being a homer.

Manning won a Super Bowl, so he can't possibly be the worst playoff QB of all time...

Let's save that debate for the QBs day at the end, though. Given the discussions this board has had about Manning before that should be one of the better debates of this thread...

The Raiders suck ass, but I'd take both of their kickers before anyone else at their positions. Both are actual weapons. And I'm still in the camp that believes SeaBass was worth a first rounder.

You have Russel Wilson (I prefer Wilson Staff) in your top five.... That's some good shit Swarm, hahahaha ha....... Ohhhhhh... Wait, you were being serious weren't you? That's suspect at best man. But, that's for a different day,(Manning is so much better than everybody it's ridiculous), same thread, same place, same shit, just a different day. Ill be here, and Ill be ready. (My shovel is sharp...)

Exactly! Should be a good one to build up to. I didn't expect to get much discussion on the kickers and punters, really... I'll toss up return specialists this evening and we can bust out all three today...
