Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1973 at the Pershing here in Lincoln with Dr.Hook and the Medicine Show and don't remember the third band. 5 bucks to get in and we sat Fillmore. 4 hours early but we sat next to the stage. Dr. Hook was hilarious! My god, to be able sit that long nowadays on a concrete floor and be able to get back up without help.

Metallica 3 times
Korn 3 times
Aerosmith 2 times
Suicidal Tendancies
GNR
Rush
and Styxx

Good times

A lot of bands love playing there. Living in a town like that makes those kids go bat-shit crazy at shows, and back in the day, great bands would roll thru there, play little dive bars and the likes, for next to nothing in cost.

I miss paying 8 dollars for concert tickets.

Bon Jovi, Shreveport 87. 80% women

While they were totally weak sauce compared to the music I liked (Metal and Thrash), took this new girl I was starting to date to them about that same year. She wanted to see them bad. She dressed up like a rocker slut with a ton of aquanet in the hair for the show. Smokin.
Yep, the place was women 3/1 ratio so I didn't mind the view at all. She mauled me in the car on the way home. Good times.

Let's see, in 1978 I saw Rainbow, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Blue Oyster Cult. Don't remember who opened for any of them. And I think I saw Van Halen that year but it could have '79.

Saw REO in Baton Rouge in 1979...In my top 3 all-time.

Saw Foreigner in tSuperdome 1980 at either the first or second Day of Rock n' Roll concerts, along with The Eagles, and Foghat. Don't remember much of that as 714's were all the rage then.

I saw Ozzy in 94 I think, and Slaughter and Ugly Kid Joe opened.

Slaughter brought the poon to the show man....good lord, I've never seen so many oddly dressed sluts in my whole life.

My first concert was late '78: Aerosmith, back when they were all doped up & strung out - & didn't bother with pre-concert sound checks.

The show sucked. I almost gave up on concerts right then & there.

My mom and day took me to a Barry Manilow concert when I was ~8 years old.. I am still scarred and don't count that concert experience...

1st real concert I went to was Motley Crue with some unknown band at the time opening for them called Bon Jovi... within 12 months, they were huge.

My family has been involved with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo forever. So I was going to concertS every year starting when I was in diapers. The first concert I remember going to is the Gatlin Brothers at the Astrodome. Yeah, that really shows my age. lol

2nd concert ever was the Clash of the Titans Tour. 1991 also.

Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice In Chains. AIC's Facelift was just gaining a little steam at the time. They were the opening act tho.

Saw that when they came to Seattle. AIC was utterly out of place on that bill, and while Seattle didn't give them any crap, Jerry Cantrell mentioned that was the worst tour they ever went on because everywhere else, all the metal heads threw everything they could at them while playing.

Slayer absolutely was the highlight that night. Pit was massive and bodies flying everywhere.

Another good one I went to was an Ozzfest around 1999. Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Deftones on the main stage and saw fear factory on the smaller one. Damn, what a show.

THE BEATLES

IN 1964, in New Orleans, I was in 2nd grade, went with my sister who was 10 years older.
She was stuck baby sitting me, so my parents gave her an extra 5 dollars(the cost of the ticket) to take me with her and her boy friend. It was in CITY PARKS, TAD GORMLEY STADIUM(the site of high school football games) there was NO SUPERDOME and even SUGAR BOWL STADIUM was thought to be TOO BIG for the event.
I remember them playing the song I'm DOWN and I SAW HER STANDING THERE. The New Orleans Cops were beating the crap out of even teeenage girls with their billys to keep them from reaching the stage.
From the start to finish it was hard to hear the music because of crazy ass screaming.
If you have ever seen the SHEA STADIUM footage, imagine that multiplied by 10 and over 4 or 5 thousand teenage girls and guys rushing the stage.
I remember hearing they printed 5000 tics sold them out, printed 5000 more, sold out in an hour.
They then would not say how many more they had sold because of the Fire Marshall, the local news channel at the time said it was estimated to be 25 thousand, the high school games there at the time drew about 1 or 2 thousand, at most, at that time.
It was like nothing seen before or since, the first real rock concert in New Orleans, the first band of the BRITISH INVASION in the states. They had made their first stop of that tour at Shea Stadium in New York. I am not sure how many cities they played in US on that tour, but it was the first!
Even though I was only 6 yrs old or so, I remember a lot of it and I feel grateful to have been there and seen history being made in perso.
