No what a tonneau cover means is that you live in an area like Northern Indiana where you get lots of snow and ice. The tonneau cover allows you to NOT have to constantly shovel out the back just to use it. Also it means you can use the bed of the truck to haul things when it is raining.

No, it means you don't need a pickup truck because anything that fits under the tonneau cover would fit in an SUV. The snow excuse is bullshit too, because if that was your goal you would just get a camper shell so you could still carry large items in your truck and the wind will take any snow build up off it while you drive unlike a tonneau cover that still has to be cleared off as its protected from the force of the wind by the cab.
I was mostly kidding though, sorry if I touched a nerve.
