You build the box so the weight is directly over the axle... and so that the weight does not slide to the front of the bed where it will have minimal effect on traction. The more weight directly over the axle the more traction you will get. Then you should also in the winter take about 4 PSI out of your tires for more traction.

As far as snow fall that depends from year to year. I live close enough to Lake Michigan that I get Lake Effect Snowfall. Which takes a normal storm and multiplies it by about 5 or 6 times. Normal average is about 80-100 inches per year. Then because of where I live we also get a lot of ice storms which totals about 10 inches per winter. The ice storms are worse than the snow storms and we are not allowed to have studded tires in this state.

You get a 100 inches? I had no idea that was even possible anywhere in IND. Incredible. I saw some crazy stuff one year in Chicago off the lake though... horizontal icicles the size of a car for instance....

North of US 30 we can. I live right on US 30. Lake effect storms can dump up to 30 inches over night. Last winter we had 18 inches fall in a 10 hr span and then the next day had an inch of ice come down on top of that.

I forgot to mention I was stuck with this retard machine for 6 months...2002 pro street Camaro. It had 1,000hp with full nitrous. I had trouble selling a boat and this dude from Panama City traded this (plus cash) for my old 42' Post. It was kinda' fun to see my neighbors react to me driving this down the street in my snotty little waterfront hood. I had trouble selling it (right after market crash) and traded it for the Lingenfelter Camaro mentioned earlier:

^ The guy I traded it to (for a pretty amazing Lingenfelter) had a "screamin' eagle" Harley Davidson with the same paint job...same eagle and everything. So, he said he was going to pull them around on a trailer together to drag race it and bike conventions. He was like finding a needle in a haystack. But I must admit it was fun to feel like 700 horses (without nitrous) hit the ground when I take it out and hit the gas. It'll put some strain on your neck muscles fo' sho'.

It had 2 nitrous bottles hidden in a spot back by the wheel wells. So, when racing you'd tell the guy you had only half the boost you really had. One of the horn buttons was the switch for it.

1981 Original Big Wheel 16" Trike with a low riding orange body, yellow ape hangers and blue seat that I lost at some point. Every square inch of that baby was real authentic plastic that probably had.....like.....31-32 miles on it when the front wheel finally split in half. It was tough seeing it crammed in the garbage can in our garage for 5 days before trash day finally arrived.

RIP my imaginary "General Lee" from The Dukes of Hazzard! I wasn't serious that time I begged Mom for a new "Nightrider" Big Wheel. You were always all I really needed!

I grew up in a hilly area in Oregon where it rains most of the year and snowed most winters. When winter was coming, my dad would put a pallet with cans of pea gravel on it in the bed of his p/u to give him better traction. A tonneau cover adds practically nothing and reduces rear wheel traction.

How the fuck does a tonneau cover reduce traction?

It allows you to carry thing and keep them dry, without the reduced visibility or easy to break into benefits of a full cap. And it improves air flow over the bed. And it adds +/- 100 lbs., how does that reduce traction?

'93 Ford Taurus SHO - 3.0 5 spd - Fun. Best Motor I ever owned.

I ordered my 1995 5 spd from the factory.

When I sold it just this past June it was heavily modified everywhere but inside the engine.

I was sad to see Bull go. But I got 20 great daily driver years out of him.

Needed garage space for the S55 AMG though.

Miss mine. Koni shocks/struts, K&N, off road Y pipe and a grizzly paw throw out bearing.
32 mpg reliably. Room for 4 comfortably. Truly a great car
