Those run DMC Yankee shirts going to be Manziel cheap now....

Might wanna buy them up while you can.

Chapman has already said publicly he wants to resign with NYY this winter.

Kershaw would keep him in line, no?

or maybe any time that Chris Sale is on
I don't know if Kershaw can keep Chapman in line. IMO, I think Chapman would be trouble for the Dodgers.

Speculation circulated Monday that one reason why the teams have not announced the trade is because the Cubs are attempting to sign Chapman, a free agent after this season, to a long-term deal.

So does the haul change if they can't?

McKinney's had a rough year in AA this year, but you have you remember he's only 21 years old, making him one of the youngest players in AA. McKinney did hit very well in his first stint in AA last year, and his numbers were well above average at every other level (especially factoring in age).

The middling power from McKinney also kinda limits him as an OF as well.

It's a good deal for both sides if the Cubs can extend Chapman. Torres was pretty much blocked by Russell and Baez. Cubs are no longer in "build a perfect farm system" mode, they're trying to win a title.

Its just how you spin it. None of these guys had much of a future in chicago. McKinney struggled in A ball as well. Torres was never gonna play here, Warren was mis used and doubt he has been happy going up and down to AAA. Its a good group of prospects for a team that wants them and has room for them to play in 2-3 years.

The bigger mix of this is how Theo is going to talk around the character of Chapman.

Too much to give up imo IF you can't resign Chapman in the winter. I guess we will see. In the short term though the Cubs may have the best 7-8-9 in the league now.

Man, a great SS prospect for what could be a rental.

It probably just won the NL Central for the Cubs, though.

It looks like the final major piece for them. Cubs closers posted a 5.91 ERA this season?

I am very confused by this. Rondon (1.95 ERA) has been in the role all year, no?
