Lol @ Eklund for even suggesting Sanheim and a pick for Nail Yakupov. He is a gifted player, but he seems like a player who puts himself first and not a team player?

I saw that. I had seen the Flyers looking into Yakupov but that Sanheim was not the player going back from the Flyers. I don't think Yakupov is worth the risk...he has a great shot and a lot of skill, but I don't think he fits.

Posted this elsewhere but this is the better thread.

Should the Flyers not be able to resign Schenn, or feel that the price is higher than they would like to commit too, they move him at the draft in a package to get a second 1st and or to get into the top 5. Really don't want Schenn moved by it is something to consider.

I still see at least one if not two moves between now and the start of Free Agency.

Lets hope Schenn takes what we offer so he stays where he belongs.

I would be very interested in adding Nugent-Hopkins. 6 mil through 2021 isn't a terrible deal.

Giroux - .9 ppg
RNH - .7 ppg
Couturier - .5 ppg

That'd be some serious strength up the middle. I wonder what it would take. I'd offer up to Morin and a 1st, see if the Oilers would bite. They need defense bad, and Morin could be close to NHL ready.

I was about to say...defense! I'd make that deal. What ever happened with the Drouin trade rumors? Is he still on the trade market for TB? I guess it probably depends on the Stamkos situation?

We don't need Shattenkirk.. Hextall has done a great job of scouting the defense for the future imo.

It does look like we are solid at D but we haven't seen anyone else besides Ghost do anything at the NHL level yet. Hopefully they all pan out.

I think Provorov is the real deal. That is 2 top 2 future dmen on the Flyers. We can afford to deal Morin for a key piece to solidify our offense. I think @awaz brought up an interesting guy by RNH.. He would fit awesome on our top line. I like Okposo as a FA as well. Hextall can fix this team in a very short time imo.

If I were Edmonton I wouldn't take Morin and a number 1 for Nugent Hopkins I would ask for more. I think Hextal has the means to make this team a contender quickly but he is choosing to go the slow and safe route.

RNH is too small plays soft I'd take okposo and keep my dmen.

I think I may be the only guy on here who really wants Okposo. I see Louie Erikson as the favorite with the posters here, or that is what my belief is? As for RNH, his game may be different playing in Philly? Edmonton is a destination nobody wants to play.

I'll take points over size every single day of the week.

Plus, the Flyers average height was 6 foot .62 inches. Average weight, 196.6 lbs.

The Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins average height was 6 foot .62 inches. Average weight 196.4 lbs.

Ryan Nugent Hopkins is 6 foot 1 inch and 175 pounds.

(numbers based on NHL.com rosters and my knowledge of which players actually played consistently for the two teams. the math worked out shockingly well for my argument :))

IMO, the "Flyers need to add size" mantra is way overblown.

Also, not saying I'm against Okposo, I like him too. And he had more points than RNH so by all means.

.81ppg for Okposo
.62ppg for RNH

I do think RNH has a higher ceiling though.

RNH is soft the size isn't the issue. Okposo can do it all and will cost less don't be swayed by fluff....
