Long time between Whitey Ford and Guidry and a long time between Lefty Gomez and Whitey Ford too

They say money can't buy everything but it seems in a lot of cases it can buy starting pitching. And sometimes you put out the 25k, use the guy as an outfielder and he hits 700 homeruns and curses the team you bought him from for 80 years.......

Pirates are good at developing arms for other teams.

Seriously look at all their early picks none have panned out(except Cole) or they get hurt a lot. (More recently Taillon)
