he has some of these great moves:

- lowballing lester
- trading half a year of lester for 1.5 years of cespedes, turned that 1 year of cespedes into 1 year of porcello, then signed porcello to a 4/84 extension where he bombed year 1.

- instead of signing Jose Abreu, he signs Ruseny Castillo for even more money.

- the John Lackey trade...Joe Kelly (sucks) and Allan Craig (sucks so bad he's getting paid millions to play in AAA).

- Signing Pablo when he could've played hanley at 3B. Lots of wasted money down the drain.

Zito was a big part of the 2012 championship though. Earned his deal in my book, especially since his awful deal didn't prevent all those rings.

He's moved to purgatory because MLB suspended him for cheating. He's very likely to get fired at the end of his suspension.

I think another stronger contender was Terry Ryan and he's already been replaced.

White Sox GM migth have to get some more consideration here as well.

Injuries (lots of em) and under performing from Greinke & ESPECIALLY Miller killed us this year, but the bullpen remains the biggest issue.

I still think the talent is there to compete IF and only IF they can rebuild the bullpen to be at least average. That's where their entire focus should be this offseason along with working w/ Miller to help him try to regain his old form. A new pitching coach would be nice as well.

The "Rockstar" GM. Making some dumb trades and destroying your farm system in an attempt to turn the Padres into overnight contenders is one thing, but to compound it by not trading your FA's and possibly guys with value like Ross, Kimbrel, and Shields at the deadline(when it was obvious the experiment had failed) makes you deserving of the worst GM title.
