So one game that a coach barely wins makes them a bad coach now?

Not that I study Awbarn, but I do live in the State of Alabama. He was on the way out the door until he beat #1 Georgia & #1 Bama. Then the brain trust at Awbarn gave him a contract extension & one hell of a buy out. It's not just 1 game, it's the whole body of work. Don't believe me? Ask any Barner & they'll tell you.

Not sure how people can vote for Moorhead when he just beat Morris by 30 during homecoming. He also doesn't have losses to North Texas, Colorado State or San Jose State and isn't about to be 0-16 in the SEC.

It's because he started with a team in much better condition than Morris. Mississippi State was coming off a 9-4 season in which they had knocked off LSU. Arkansas was coming off a 4-8 season during which they had beat 1 SEC team, Ole Miss. Mississippi State returned 18 starters in 18. Arkansas returned 17, but from a losing team already.

Moorhead is way over his head with zero hope.

If Morris can get a QB worth a crap he will start winning some games.

For what it’s worth I think Matt Luke is doing fantastic when you factor in the hand he was dealt. The recruiting restrictions alone typically will drag on a program for almost a decade. Just ask USC and Bama.

So Moorhead lost one more game than they did the year prior, while Morris lost two more. He is also 4-5 this season while Morris is 2-7 and Moorhead has beaten Morris head to head 106-31. I just don't think there is much argument to be made. On paper we recruit about the same and they are having a better season despite losing 3 first round picks.

But he just gave up 600+ yards to a not that great MSU offense. A better QB would help (and 4* freshman dual-threat KJ Jefferson looked great in the 4th quarter Saturday) but Morris has had more different players start at QB than he has wins at Arkansas :noidea:

didn't MSU lose most of their defensive starters (most notably Sweat)? that was one of the best in the country too. still a disappointing season, but replacing that defense was a tough task

How is Dan Mullen not an option?

Big Game Danny hasn't won a big game in his coaching career, he is a fraud. Great recruiter and he is great at developing youngsters but he folds under pressure and his playcalling becomes plain and repetitive. He can't win a big game to save his life.

Chad Morris - I think he could be a success one day but he took over a shitty Arkansas program.
Jeremy Pruitt - took over one of the biggest shitshows in America with crazy delusional fans. I actually feel sorry for this guy.
Matt Luke - this program was in the gutter when he took them over. Bowl bans and loss of scholarships, what a shitshow.
Joe Moorehead - after last year all that NFL talent that Mullen developed is gone and this is a HC that is in his 2nd year at a school that gets 3 star talent. He was simply in over his head and it isn't all his fault.
Derek Mason - it's Vandy...enough said.

This is why Big Game Danny is the right answer.

Florida can consistently get great players year after year.
Mullen is a pretty damn good recruiter and has ties to Florida, should make it even easier.
McElwain even won big games in his short stint at Florida.

Big Game Danny won't win a big game. He is a choke artist that took over a program where you get top elite talent and he continues to choke in primetime.

If you want a guy to take over your program and consistently win 8-9-10 games but fail in the spotlight and develop your players to get to the NFL...take Danny. He will roll over easy competition than choke up and his playcalling becomes repetitive and opponents catch on quick...reminds me of Harballs. He won't win the Big game for ya though just like Harballs.

Y’all should say fuck morality and ethics and hire Bobby P back.
I think keeping Morris is the best move but this would be the best plan B.
