Plus beating a seemingly invincible Gerritt Cole last night. If they win tonight it's all over.

It'd be cooler if I wasn't losing so much fake money betting against them...but yeah. Who doesn't love a good underdog story?

Proving once again there is nothing routine or predictable about the Astros playing in the postseason.

Astros hitters made Scherzer throw 20+ pitches every inning and did everything except get hits when they needed them.

Yeah, it was similar to the Astros-Yanks series. The Yankees (while not having near as good a pitching staff as the Nats), left a lot of guys on base, so did Houston last night.

But the thing is, it's not like to Astros played badly by any stretch, they just played against another good team, ,last night could have easily gone the other way. Hopefully it will continue to be close the whole series, and go to 7 games.

Right now, the few days of extra rest seems to be helping the Nats. Baseball is so unpredictable though, Strasbourg and Nats could get blown out tonight, but I don’t think so.

The Nats even said it did. Gave them time to recover and it's not like Turner, Zimmerman,Soto etc. had many days off to begin with, so they were well rested and it showed.

I thought for sure how patient the Astros were they'd get the win, just didnt get the timely hitting. Also, when Corbin came in all that patience and plate discipline seemed to go right out the window. Credit Corbin for that

Just another interesting fact that I just learned, The Nationals and the Astros share the same stadium and facilities for Spring Training in Florida.

Huh. I didn't even realize the Astros had ditched Kissimmee.

Springer should have gotten a triple out of that double. The postseason baseball rears its ugly head again.

Man, Cole had't lost a game since May 22 ! 25 straight starts without a loss, that's insane ... Give some major props to this Nationals team, that's big time..

Eventhough it was Cole's turn in the rotation this is probably why Verlander is pitching tonight... Figured we "should" win with Cole and if his first innings struggles (Verlander) continue in Game 2 it should be ok

The Nationals are looking like destiny's team this year because it wants them to win it all in the first year post-Harper
