Here's a guy who had a lot of success throwing a forkball winning 4 rings with the Reds and Yankees in the 70s...

Must be Gullett. Part of the Big Red Machine
Very effective as I remember School buddy and rival loved them and kept up via Sporting News

Confession- I was an Astros fan before Rangers existed
Saw Morgan before the trade - big Toy cannon fan Wilson Dierker etc.

moved to Dallas 1970 and took on the lowly Rangers as my home team after their move
The rest is history

Yeah that was Don Gullett and one of the few that I remember throwing a forkball, he passed away a couple of weeks ago at the age of 73...

Lowe has never been on the DL with Texas, before.

Well looks like Foscue may have a clear shot at the opening day roster if he didn't already...

Too bad Crim isn't on the 40 he's been having a good ST and "maybe" could have ended up make Lowe expendable...

Sandler said Leiter might be getting SP consideration

Also injury to Lowe may open up OD roster for Walsh, Foscue and Langford - sorry Crim

sorry Crim
From Jeff Wilson:

Former American League All-Star Jared Walsh is the leading candidate based on a .412 spring batting average with an 1.147 OPS. The left-handed hitter isn’t the only candidate, though, with Bochy mentioning the right-handed-hitting Justin Foscue and Blaine Crim.

Opening Day could see Langford in LF, Foscue at DH, and Crim at 1B. A possibility anyway

I like Jack Leiter as much as just about any Rangers fan, but I just don't understand this talk of him making the rotation out of Spring Training. That would seem to be a bigger mistake than starting his career in AA.

I think if Leiter does make the team, he will have a far worse record of results in the minors of any legitimate prospect making his big league debut for the Rangers. His career minor league numbers include a 5.37 ERA and a WHIP of 1.51.
