Maybe I can’t remember. To me it is time to mail in the weekendDidn't they work out a deal for Eovaldi on Christmas Eve last year?

Think he was injured and Carter did no look good after his injury. I am just going by memory and times I saw him play in personZavala was really bad last year.
Seems like they mentioned that in the postseason when Eovaldi was pitching a gem. They mentioned CY's wife turning to him and saying "I guess it was worth messing up the Christmas Eve plans" or something like that.Maybe I can’t remember. To me it is time to mail in the weekend
You were pretty close December 27 was the reported dateSeems like they mentioned that in the postseason when Eovaldi was pitching a gem. They mentioned CY's wife turning to him and saying "I guess it was worth messing up the Christmas Eve plans" or something like that.
we need a 4th of'er who can play all 3 of positions like Jankowski to backup Langford, Carter and Garcia. both Bubba and Taveras are CF'ersIf we cannot get anything of value in trade for Leody, I would not have a problem with him being on the team as a 4th OF. I think we probably can though.
It would leave us a little shallow when it comes to depth though. Signing another CF to serve as AAA depth would alleviate that problem though.

Probably negotiating then
Eovaldi is a very good pitcher you can trust to make starts in the postseason.
In that scenario (instead of trading one of the SPs) I'd rather put one of those three in the pen, go with a six man rotation and send the last guy down to AAA in case of injury.
DeGrom-Perez-Eovaldi-Gray-Odorizzi-Dunning(?) could compete with the Yankees for best rotation in the game, IMO.
They have played all over the OF.we need a 4th of'er who can play all 3 of positions like Jankowski to backup Langford, Carter and Garcia. both Bubba and Taveras are CF'ers
You had one named Grossman. LOLwe need a 4th of'er who can play all 3 of positions like Jankowski to backup Langford, Carter and Garcia. both Bubba and Taveras are CF'ers
very little according to baseball referenceThey have played all over the OF.
we carried 4 of'ers in Grossman, Taveras, Garcia and Jankowski and Jankowski was the 4th who replaced Grossman for defensive purposes with several players who played LF occasionally. You had one named Grossman. LOL
You play the other positions very little when you are a good CF. That is always the case.very little according to baseball reference
Carter is graded as a CF'er but played LF and RF. when did Taveras play LF or RF?You play the other positions very little when you are a good CF. That is always the case.
Don't remember about Taveras but Bubba played some in left.Carter is graded as a CF'er but played LF and RF. when did Taveras play LF or RF?
You looked at Baseball reference. It tells how much they have played at each position.Carter is graded as a CF'er but played LF and RF. when did Taveras play LF or RF?
both are good fielders but neither is a solid contributor at the plate. Bubba played around 40 games and hit .170 which got him released. Carter, Langford and Garcia is solid and Jankowski showed he could contribute all over the OF and at the plateDon't remember about Taveras but Bubba played some in left.
Right on all accounts.both are good fielders but neither is a solid contributor at the plate. Bubba played around 40 games and hit .170 which got him released. Carter, Langford and Garcia is solid and Jankowski showed he could contribute all over the OF and at the plate
I'd still favor going with a six man rotation when deGrom, Mahle and Scherzer come back from injury towards the back half of next year. Ideally, I would prefer Scherzer work out of the bullpen upon return, and roll with a late season starting rotation (barring injury) of deGrom-Eovaldi-Mahle-Dunning-Gray-Bradford, with Scherzer and Heaney (again, barring injury, lol) working out of the pen.I loved looking back at this post by @armadillooutlaw on Christmas day last year.
Will come down to the money.
