He's had four full seasons where his performance varied between solid to very good, and during the covid year was elite. He was bad last year with reduced velocity on his fastball but was only an 8.2 inning sample. Maybe injured? Only 29. Seattle has been pretty loaded as far as pitching so they were able to send him down to the minors. He could very well bounce back in a big way with Texas.

I suspect the Dodgers will be signing Hader. And mlb will sit on their hands and do nothing. Why? Because the baseball players union is the strongest not just in sports, but one of the strongest unions period.

The CBT is simply not enough when you can defer almost 100 mil a year ( combined deferrals of Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman).

It is wrong for baseball and it hurts the enjoyment of the average fan.

The only smart way to do it is if you actually sock the money away, maybe invest in something safe like T-Bills, so you will have it when it comes time to pay out.

Billings was mainly a catcher, but played in all 4 corners some as well. Mostly LF other than C. But a handful at the other positions.

I wouldn't mind having a bench player like that for this year if Huff is going to get much time at DH and/or 1B.

Spencer was one of several players who both had good careers and a brief stint in Texas. Others included Tovar, Carty, Cardenas, Campaneris, Rivers, Jenkins, Blyleven, and Fregosi.
