Wanted to take a brief moment to thank the folks here who bring us content all offseason. We’re a few weeks away from actual games being played. Do I watch preseason? No…..I just look at the box score and try to find a highlight clip on YouTube.

Seems like we have been put just one step ahead of Oakland each year. I pay no attention to this stuff is there is just too many variables involved such as injuries, midseason trades, and guys who come out of nowhere to produce.

Free-agent right-hander Trevor Bauer wants to play in the major leagues so badly that he has offered to play for the league minimum.

He made his pronouncement on Twitter, calling himself a cheap option for a team that doesn’t want to pay Blake Snell. Bauer didn’t say Jordan Montgomery, but he didn’t need to say it.

He also didn’t mention the Rangers, though it seems like they could use a former Cy Young winner on a cheap one-year contract.

If the Rangers and Bauer was going to happen, it would have already happened. Right?

Ross Fenstermaker, Rangers Vice President/Assistant General Manager, Player Development & International Scouting, was on with Jared Sandler earlier this week. Jared asked him to name a couple of guys under the radar, so to speak, that Ross thought could break out or surprise some folks this year. He named Zak Kent and Anthony Gutierrez. He said Kent is healthy again and has his velocity back up. He thinks Gutierrez, at 18 years of age, is just the right age to have a great season. He even mentioned that he hopes we don't trade Guitterez.
