Just play a sudden death period without ANY OFFSIDES rule.

It is a simple and more satisfying solution.

It would be fun as hell, and it would not tire anyone out. We would see crazy long kick fast breaks.

It would be far better than dumbass penalty kicks.

Russia did play defense the entire game.

It takes two teams to put on such a boring game.

Spain had no real offense. Russia only played defense the entire game.

That’s very true. But Spain had possession for close to 80% of the whole damn game. How many true shots did they get on goal? 4? That’s pathetic. Now Russia didn’t help just kicking it out when they go the ball deep in their own territory but still.
