Easily, they have no clue how to attack. Just sit there and pass the ball. It’s a worse form of what Germany was doing in the group stage.

Russia is playing 120 minutes of merely waiting out for penalty kicks.
Russia has zero desire to win the game.

Spain has nearly 1000 passes and 80% possession but zero offense to show for it.
Spain has zero ability to win the game if Russia is playing not to lose.

Why did the two teams ever bother to play. Just flip a coin and decide the winner.

This is embarassing for the hosts to so blatantly and utterly play for penalty kicks in front of their national audience.

Spain is not playing their best, but at least they tried to play today.
Spain had the ball the entire game. I have never seen a game where one team never bothered to possess the ball.

Russia decided after 1 minute that they wanted penalty kicks to decide it.
