I think he would have to pass through waivers to return to the AHL. With there being no chance of him making the team there is no point of risking waivers on him.

I liked Mashinter, hard shot, a nose for the net and he could throw down. Unfortunately he didn't really play well enough when he got his chances here to stick with the big club.

In former Sharks prospect news, I'm not sure if anyone on here noted, Michael Sgarbossa is up with the Avalanche now. If you recall, he was a part of the trade with the Avalanche in which we gave up McGinn, Sgarbossa, Mike Connolly, and a 7th rounder for the Ducks leading goal scorer and the ever so useless TJ Galiardi. I was more upset about losing Sgarbossa than McGinn. It will be interesting to see what he can do in his first stint in the NHL and if he sticks.
