This draft is going to be one of the deepest in a while. I'd compare it to the 2003 draft class if not slightly better. There are about 12-15 sure fire picks then after that about another 30 players who probably deserve to be 1st round picks. Right now next years draft is shaping up to be a bit top heavy with a significant drop off in talent after the first 5-7 picks.
Yes, if you want to restock the prospect pool with quality this is the year to do it. That's the main reason many GM's with marginal PO teams regard their 1st round picks as untouchable.
Sounds good. I'm sure there will be some GM out there that will give up their 1st for Boyle (maybe even Clowe?). Would love to see Doug get two 1sts in this year's draft based on what you said about the depth of this year's draft. Something like a mid 1st (Sharks own) plus a 20 something over all (Boyle trade) would be a good start.
