Wisky is always an odd case. They seem they do the job for some but not for others.

I'm not sure I'm talking about the program or the drink.

They've been right on the edge of elite for 10 years now.

P5's Through 2018

1) Alabama: 127-13 (90.7%)
2) Ohio St: 115-19 (85.8%)
3) Clemson: 112-27 (80.5%)
4) Oklahoma: 105-28 (78.9%)
5) Stanford: 102-32 (76.1%)
6) Wisconsin: 102-33 (75.5%)
7) LSU: 97-32 (75.1%)
8) Oregon: 99-33 (75%)
9) Florida St: 97-36 (72.9%)

For Wisconsin, seven of those 10 years were double digit wins.

13 win seasons: 1
11 win seasons: 4
10 win seasons: 2
9 win seasons: 1
8 win seasons 2

That is "not even remotely contenders"? LOL
.

They haven't beaten Ohio State in nearly a decade though. I think that's what it boils down to. Both them and Michigan are in the shadow.

This makes them "not even remotely contenders"?

The Badgers are #1 in at least six defensive categories:

Total defense, 107.5 yards & zero TDs allowed. Next best team is TCU at 209.5 ypg & 2 TDs.

Scoring defense, 0.0 points per game. Arizona St. is next at 7.0 ppg.

3rd down percentage, allowed 4 conversions on 28 attempts (.143%). Kansas St. follows at 5 of 31 (.161%).

First downs allowed, 12. TCU has allowed 17.

Passing yards allowed, 3.05 yards per attempt, 6.96 yards per catch, 0 TDs, 87 yards per game. Missouri is next at 3.83 ypa, 8.70 ypc, 1 TD, 95.7 ypg.

Rushing defense, 0.93 yards per carry, 0 TDs, 20.5 yards per game. Michigan St. follows at 0.90 ypc, 1 TD, and 23.5 ypg.

Georgia, Maryland, Iowa & Alabama have also yet to give up a rushing TD. Baylor hasn't given up a passing TD.
If Wisky, TCU and Arizona State would have played us, their defenstive stats would be even better. Hell, playing our sorry offense even got Texas Tech up in defensive statistics!

One of TCU's games is against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. They may be one of the few teams worse then us on offense.

And one of Az State's opponents is that offensive dynamo that Sparty!

Remove the decimal from infront of the .161% as 5/31 is not .00161 so either remove the % or put the decimal in the proper place.

You are correct. I erred in putting the percentage sign next to the statistics. So, everyone just ignore that part.

Ostensibly Wisconsin did make the playoffs in 2017 as they had a play in game vs OSU but they lost . In my opinion if you make it to within one win of being a surefire lock for the playoff then you're a contender . You just lost . It happens . Same for Auburn in 2017. Iowa in 2015. I think those are the only 3 i can think of that were win and in teams for sure . I may be forgetting someone though

Except for the 59-0 debacle in 2014 and wisconsin's win by 13 in 2010, every Ohio State-Wisconsin game since 2008 has been a one score game

That loss was by 6 points and we had a chance at the end zone late in the game.

Yep i feel your pain being as my team was 30 seconds and 1 4th down stop away ( 3 times ) from making it . In reality though both those games were akin to playoff games . If your a team that makes it to within one win of being a guaranteed playoff team then you're , by definition, a contender

Why? Who have they played?

Everybody on their schedule, and they have played them great. Are you trying to insult Wisconsin by insulting the teams they have played? Here's a very basic clue; You can only play the teams on your schedule.

As a really old Badger fan, this is heaven. We went 30 years (1963-1992) without winning 8 games once.

I’m not insulting anyone (other than you for saying dumb shit). Just pointing out you don’t need to respect them, at all, until they do the same thing to your always overhyped team this week.

Also, facepalmed.

I choose to respect my opponent, especially when they have earn it ... relax and don't be so easily offended. Would it make you feel better if I said; I respect Washington as well?
