There is another show starting later this month that was actually signed off on by Magic. Supppsedly Magics answer to Jordan’s last dance. Will be interesting to see the differences.

My guess it'll leave out the parts where he's fucking any female that moves.

The man was not, shall we say, overly discriminating in that endeavor.

Jack Kent Cooke kinda was. lol

The Logos problem was every loss just ate at him. He couldn't let go. If memory serves, for years, even when he was in the FO, he couldn't even be in the building during finals games.

Holy shit it came out on tonight’s episode how much Magic lost out on by not taking Nikes stock heavy offer instead of going with Converse. Over 5 Billion, yes with a B.

That was crazy. Having a man break up with his daughter for him is cold blooded.

That sucks, but given the time, its understandable why he wouldn't go with them. Nike were nobodies. All they had to offer pretty much had to offer was stock options and most people are gonna turn that down when you've got hard cash from a proven commodity on the other hand. They had built up a better rep by the time Jordan came around a few years later but even then, he almost went with Adidas because Nike was still nobodies when it came to basketball shoes. They were a "track" company

Yeah, I was going to post on this. Plus, the Great Western Bank guys making fun of Phil Knight and saying Nike would be gone in 6 months probably didn't help. lol

Back then, even Puma was more well known than Nike.

I loved how they are portraying Bird. Actor they got for him looks quite a bit like him too. That scene where he's doubled and he tells the Lakers they can't stop him anyway and tells them exactly what he's gonna do isn't fiction. Bird would do that shit all the time. Tell you right to your face what he plans to do because you ain't stopping him anyway.

That show has gotten the looks right with the casting. The actor playing Magic looks really close to the real guy back then

Yeah.

The Kareem character, I think, does a pretty good job showing his general attitude. They certainly dramatized his metamorphosis to buying into the system but I think Kareem was always viewed as surly.
Very surly.

When Kareem started to come out of his shell about 10, 15 years ago he would complain about how he is kind of overlooked or forgotten about.

I always thought that was hysterical. Because he had one message to everyone while he was a player.

"GO AWAY"

Some couple choices are less effective. The guy playing Jack Nicholson isn't very convincing, and the use of known actors to play guys like Richard Pryor (Mike Epps) and Elgin Baylor (Orlando Jones) aren't great either.
