It's incredibly easy to look at how he's performed and say we missed out, but anyone who says they knew he'd perform the way he has is completely full of shit.

I have no idea on how he would perform but I liked how he was performing and losing him was something I did not want the Rangers to do. And he is not the only player we have done that to including a HOFer who works for the Rangers.

Yep, it wasn't about knowing he would be as good as he has been since then, it was about appreciating what he had done and wanting close to more of the same for a few more years.

I think they let how he handled his suspension become a personal thing. As I recall, they also lost interest in retaining Benoit at one point and he went on to have a few more good years after leaving here as well. They got crossways with him over something as well and let that become personal.

Did not see much of the game at least early but the push to get total innings and strikeouts up for Minor looks to be taking it’s till. Would not be bad to shut him down. Not going to matter much unless it is seeding for NY and Houston

Looking back that is one of the biggest mistakes Ranger Org has ever made. Wonder if Pudge's position now was given to reconcile the blunder.
