And to add injury to insult, the one reliever on the team that was showing promise and had some potential broke his elbow throwing a pitch and is out for the season.

Decent outing by Santana so far, but the Twins are scoring less than the audience at a Star Trek convention.

And there's been two instances this season that has made me wonder if Freddi Gonzalez is suited to be more than a base coach, and I'm not just saying this in hind sight, my frustration with them is documented on the Braves season thread before the outcome of the decisions were known.

The first was we were down by just a run in the top of the 9th against the Cards. Still a ball game. What does Freddi do? He brings in Jose Ramirez who was only on the 25 man roster because he is out of options, and had an ERA of over 10 in Spring Training and had been hit hard in his 2 other appearances for the team. And then of course, he gives up 5 runs, and the run we scored off Rosenthal in the 9th was all for not.

The other was pinch hitting for Jhoulis CHacin after he had only thrown 69 pitches through 6 innings and was breezing through the Nats' lineup. Harper was fooled, Rendon was fooled, but Gordon Beckham got a 2 out double in the top of the 7th, so Gonzalez pinch hits for Chacin, Jace Peterson strikes out, and in the 8th, our bull pen gives up a 2 run double to Harper, and that was ball game and again, the run we scored in the 9th was all for not.

He went yard in his very first at bat of the season. He's 1-24 since, and Kelly Johnson is starting at first base this afternoon, and Freeman has hit Strasburg hard during his career. Makes me wonder if Freeman's hand/wrist was tweaked worse than we were told in ST.

This is just a misery loves company conversation for me, but what kind of jackass strikes out 4 times with a man on third and 1 out this early in the season like Adonis Garcia?

Let's keep 1 upping each other.

Rosario on 2nd no out. Mauer hits a grounder deep over 3B. Frazier backhands and is gonna have no shot to get Mauer. He fakes and goes to second and Rosario is doubled off.

Stupid fucking baseball. And Mauer loses a hit. And we lose 1st and 2nd no outs.

And we would have been 2-0 to start the season if AJ Pierzynski could catch a fucking ball that beats the runner by a mile.

Do you have have a 30 year old Cuban prospect that you traded away one of your top prospects and one of your best starting pitchers to get, only to have him hit into a double play in every meaningful at bat he's had this season, then get arrested for beating up a woman in a Washington DC suburb, and his future with the team is uncertain at best?

Dozier is a fucking embarrassment.

Guy just simply doesn't care to learn fundamental hitting.

Can the Twins top the 21 losses by the 88 Orioles to start the season?

And down they go. Robertson with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
