Yes, I don't think he can go into this season without a contract.

No way you risk an injury.

He could lose 100 million dollars on one hit.

He has to hold out or sign.

Here's the issue.... Jackson just watched the Browns give a guaranteed 200+ million to a pervert because they were desperate for a QB. And looking around the league, next offseason could find teams even more desperate. If Tua fails, a team like Miami could be poised to give him whatever he wants.

The Ravens will have some leverage with a franchise tag for next season but it would hurt their cap. Regardless, they could easily control the rights of Jackson's first 6 years and then move on with the idea that his game will decline with age. I just don't see much incentive on their end to guarantee him 200 million dollars.

If they don't sign him now.....I could see Jackson saying he wants a trade to Miami next offseason.....and the Dolphins could offer the picks they'd want.

If Tua fails.....

Nice! Boomer jokes are awesome. You gonna play jacks later with your hula hoop after you and your chums stuff the phone booth? Sounds boss just like your Metamucil orange juice.

Have you heard that dude talk? He really should've hired an agent.

I say no, but despite what he's saying could still get done during the season.

The longer they wait, the more likely a team like Miami comes into the picture to swipe Jackson away...

Alex Smith is a perfect example of why you don't go into this season without a new contract.

Yep, he's from Miami and if, if Tua bombs this season?

All they need is a QB.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Lamar Jackson is ready to play out his rookie contract absent "massive guarantees" in extension talks.

Jackson has insisted he will not negotiate past Week 1, and the clock has almost ticked midnight. In some ways, this is all typical contract posturing, but Jackson has been indicating since the beginning he is ready to take if farther than most. He definitely seems comfortable playing out his deal then commanding franchise tags, a la Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott. At this point, a new deal seems highly unlikely between now and Sunday.
