He may wind up costing an arm an a leg, but after taking a trip down memory lane of all the WRs drafted after Terrell Owens, and especially when looking back at how poorly the offense played without Crabtree early this year, I'd be pissed if SF doesn't fight to keep him.

Here is the list of WRs drafted by the Niners after Terrell Owens & their respective stats while playing for SF:

Iheanyi Uwaezuoke (1996. 5th Round): 3 years - 24 Rec - 323 Yards - 1 TD - 3 lost fumbles.

Ryan Thelwell (1998. 7th Round): Cut during training camp.

Tai Streets (1999. 6th Round): 5 years - 168 Rec - 2,008 Yards - 13 TDs.

Cedrick Wilson (2001. 6th Round): 4 Years - 97 Rec - 1,203 Yards - 6 TDs.

Brandon Lloyd (2003. 4th Round): 3 Years - 105 Rec - 1,510 Yards - 13 TDs.

Arnaz Battle (2003. 6th Round): 7 Years - 178 Rec - 2,150 Yards - 11 TDs - 77 Rushing Yards - 1 Rush TD.

Rashaun Woods (2004. 1st Round): 2 Years - 7 Rec - 160 Yards - 1 TD.

Derrick Hamilton (2004. 3rd Round): 2 Years. Only ever active for 2 games. Never caught a pass. Released during 2006 training camp.

Rasheed Marshall (2005. 5th Round): 1 Year - 1 Rec - Negative 1 Yard - 1 Rush Att - Negative 7 Yards - 4 Fumbles - 2 Lost

Marcus Maxwell (2005. 7th Round): 2 Years - Never caught a pass.

Brandon Williams (2006. 3rd Round): 2 Years - Never caught a pass. 2 Fumbles - 1 Lost.

Delanie Walker (2006. 6th Round. Converted to TE): 7 Years - 123 Rec - 1,465 Yards - 8 TDs - 44 Rushing Yards - 4 Fumbles

Jason Hill (2007. 3rd Round): 3 Years - 40 Rec - 413 Yards - 4 TDs - 5 Rushing Yards

Josh Morgan (2008. 6th Round): 4 Years - 131 Rec - 1764 Yards - 9 TDs - 78 Rushing Yards

Michael Crabtree (2009. 1st Round): 5 Years - 279 Rec - 3,629 Yards - 22 TDs - 14 Rushing Yards - 1 Fumble

Kyle Williams (2010. 6th Round): 4.5 Years - 47 Rec - 574 Yards - 4 TDs - 76 Rushing Yards - 3 Fumbles

Ronald Johnson (2011. 6th Round): Cut during Pre-Season.

A. J. Jenkins (2012. 1st Round): 1.5 Years - Never caught a pass.

Quinton Patton (2013. 4th Round): 1 Year - 3 Rec - 34 Yards - 26 Rushing Yards

IMO it would be dumb to let the only decent WR since TO walk just because he might want to get paid. He is Kaepernick's favorite target and Anquan Boldin isn't getting any younger, if he even comes back at all.

I don't think there is any doubt that we make every attempt to re-sign Crabtree, people who deny this are just lying to themselves about our situation and our draft history.

In retrospect, thank God Crabtree held out. That enabled us to play hardball and lock him up for his sixth year.

Hey guys missed the whole season on tour. Missed the points of views when it came to this game we all love to watch. Glad to be back. IMO I'd rather spend the $ that crab will demand and go for the combo of. Maclin Boldoin Hester or Saunders Boldin Hester and use a high pick on Watkins or Evens we have 7 picks in the 1st 4 Rounds we can make a move a cheap move and have chain movers, Deep threats a ST Stud returner and depth. ......

Wow, what a sorry list. I don't even remember some of the names being on the team.

The 49ers, under guys like Dwight Clark, Terry Donahue, Mike Nolan & Scott McCloughan drafted terribly at WR (and at every other position mind you), so Baalke, who's spent a 1st, 4th & 6th round pick on WRs is incapable of drafting WRs in the future because his ONLY 1st-round bust has been a WR.

Jenkins: Bust
Johnson: 6th rounder would've been lucky to make the team anyway
Patton: looks like a good pick.

Yep. There's no way he could pick a good one in the future. Why? Because Terry Donahue is inept.

Better not draft a CB either. They've been terrible at that too.

Crabtree is not an elite receiver. Trying to force the ball to him has cost us the last 2 Superbowls.

I am praying we draft at least 2 WRs (with one of them being one of the 6'5") and they pan out and we let Crabtree walk.

THANK YOU!!!

PLEEEEEASE trade him. It's time to break up the Kaepernick-Crabby bromance. It's cost the team 2 Super Bowls.

You want everyone traded. This is not madden.

Not everyone. Just players whose perceived values are much more than their real values (long term).

Most people want to sign an injury-prone, slow possession receiver to a long-term contract around 10 million a year or so. That's insane. I'd much rather go with Patton & spend the cap room signing a player who's not going to be an albatross for years.

Your draft past shouldn't dictate what moves you make in the future.

Also you need to look at what rounds most of those guys are taken. Of course you're not going to get much in return when you take guys in the 3rd rounds or later. Sure teams get hits with the WR position in later rounds but it's not common as it's typically a position where the talent doesn't slip through the cracks.

I would love to keep Crabtree but I wouldn't pay him 10 million+ and let him walk at that price.

I believe with the way the organization manages the draft and cap and if Kap develops into an elite QB we could be good for years but you can only do that when you don't overpay and let guys walk while replacing them with cheaper help.

Im down for giving Crabtree a small contract something like 3 years for 24 million.

Crabtree is a top 10 WR. We better sign him. Has one of the best hands in football and is a great move the chains receiver.

Perhaps because he's the best wide receiver we have? he has the ability to catch Kaepernick's innacurate passes.

No 1 superbowl. Refs cost us the other one. It was clear there were holding or PI on Crabtree.
