Why isn't LeBron averaging 10+ Assists per game...?

Since 2009 LeBron's teams have always been elite shooting... especially this year, with seven -7- of his teammates shooting 40% or better from long-range (and that DOESN'T even include Allen and Battier).

Considering the stacked rosters of lights-out shooters James has been surrounded with over the last 5-6 years, shouldn't he be averaging double-digit Assists per game... or at least finishing Top 3-5 in the league every year?

Only CP3 is averaging 10+ assists a game. That should tell you something.

The Heat are shooting 53% as a team (45% from long-range) and LeBron is the primary ball-handler, but he's not even Top 10 in Assists per game this year... yet all we hear about is how great a passer / play-maker he is (on the level of Magic Johnson some have said - ROFL).

In other words I call BS, as in LeOver-rated.

He is averaging 6.9 assists. He is also averaging 6.9 for his career.

He doesn't need to average 10 bc he isn't a PG. He does everything very well, spreads the stats around.

Nice try, troll. :laugh3:

He should have attacked his lesser rebound stats or made up a story about his pathetic defense.

@OP, just read some Sman posts if you are needing some material, same BS just Sman is better at it.

In other words you have no explanation... I figured as much, since it's becoming more and more evident that LeBron is over-rated.

ROFL... he's not a PG 'on paper'; however James is very much the PG on the Heat, just as he was in Cleveland (ie; the guy who handles the ball the vast majority of the time insofar as facilitating the Offense and distributing the ball).

This guy has been compared to Magic Johnson for passing / play-making skills (lol... funny and foolish I know, but still), so to claim he's not a PG is like saying Shaq wasn't a Center.

You're kidding, right...?

In 09 the Cavs finished #6 overall in FG% and #2 in 3-PT%, including seven -7- guys who shot 38% or better from long-range. In 2010 the Cavs finished #3 overall in FG% and (again) #2 in 3PT%... led by Parker, Williams and Gibson (who shot between 41-48% from deep).

Hmmm, maybe because this isn't hockey and only 1 guy can get the assist. When the ball keeps moving only the last pass gets the assist. Also, I know, this is a shocker, sometimes guys dribble, and once the ball is on the ground there is no assist. You can set up plays without getting that assist.

I also love how you give 3pt%, not totals taken or made which would have more relevance to the # of assists.

Maybe because he is a small/power forward

It might be a crazy theory, but I think power forwards need not average 10+ assists.

I know the OP believes every power forward in NBA history averaged over 12 assists a game.

But, maybe Lebron is just being a trailblazer by only getting 6.9 dimes from the four.

Troll thread....not even a good one.

Why does it matter how many assists you have? He probably starts some plays that breaks down the defense then someone else dishes out the assist that lebron started

Considering that LeBron doesn't play 48mins per game and his passes don't automatically end with a basket made (or even a FGA for that matter)....... you're in nothing but reach mode.

The funniest thing in your "including seven -7- guys who shot 38% or better from long-range" is that you include 5MPG Tarence Kinsey.

Because it's LeBron and he's a Jordan fan.
