Lot of other better players could have been invited. He has only played against 1 top 25 defense this season and had a mediocre game. If you take away his outlier kickoff return for 98 yards he averaged 26 yards a return, so one less yard is he knelled the football. Not to mention he went 6 games without scoring a single point. Here are some defensive rankings and his performance against them.

Northwestern: 7 in scoring D, 11 in total D, 14 in rushing D.
66 yards rushing in only 12 touches, 5.5 per carry, 23 yards receiving 5 catches and a td.
UCF: 118 scoring D, 115 in total D, 100 in rushing D.
58 yards on 20 carries 2.8 per touch, 4 catches 59 yards and a td.
Notre Dame: 34 in scoring D, 38 in total D, 65th in rushing D.
94 yards in 27 carries, 19 yards receiving 3 catches.

Stanford's opponents averaged: 70 in scoring D (4 ranked 100+), 79 in total D (5 ranked 110+), 72 in rushing D (5 teams ranked 99+).

He may want to buy a ticket to a Broadway show during the trophy ceremony, dude does not belong there.

While I do agree that the Pac 12 was down this year and his competition in-conference wasn't stellar, you can't take away from what he did. He's the best APB since Reggie Bush. He belongs in NY.

Probably because this is a really weak Heisman year.

The pac 12 wasn't down as a whole. In fact, I think it was up. There just wasn't a clear playoff worthy team at the top.

He should be sending all those defenses ranked over 100 some muffin baskets for helping him pad his stats.

Is Saban going to cry about how the Heisman Award is a distraction and shouldn't be announced until after the title game?

Fact, if Henry was from the West Coast this would be the largest margin of victory just like Mariota was last year.

I watch a lot of high school football. This is like the small school that plays scrubs and has the little 5'5 white kid that weighs a 140 and a 5 flat 40 running for over a thousand yards on the season in 1A, and comparing it to the 6'2 200 pound running back that runs a 4.5 and ran for 980 yards against 5A opponents. Like yes you have more numbers, but really? Is it really comparable, really?

Fact that you say that just highlights how poor this trophy has become.

Stanford, Rice, Northwestern and Cal may be the only FBS schools where the of the player's IQs far exceeds that of the coaches. Stanford is just now figuring out what they have in McCaffery and how to use it. Slow learners.

I think you are highly overestimating how good the SEC is this year.
