Btw, on this bandwagon thing - I have a question.

I've been to many 49'rs, Raiders, Giants and A's game. Dozens of them, because you know they were close and on the same side of the country I lived on(Plus free tickets from work). I tailgated at them(the best part usually). I even have a Frank Gore jersey I got when he was a Rookie(so glad I didn't go for the Alex Smith one).

Even though I've never really been a fan of them, much less for 30 years as is the case with Alabama and the Cubs - if I suddenly started claiming to be a fan of them, would that fandom be legit and not bandwagon?

Because I dunno, that would seem pretty bandwagon to me. Or is it just a matter of how successful they are? If they have success this year, does that mean I can't become a fan even though I meet your stupid rules? Or what about if they were successful when I went to games. Like I went to an A's ALCS game vs Detroit back 8 or 9 years ago. A's lost, but they were doing pretty good then and had a movie made about them.

You know, since I apparently can't be a "true" Cubs fan, I guess I need a new team. What about the Giants? They've won a bunch of world series lately, and to be honest, the game experience is much better at AT&T Park. Or does their recent success make me a bandwagon fan? Am I just a Barry Bonds groupie since he was playing then?

Btw: I guess San Jose Sharks is ok? I've been to many of their games and is actually a team I choose without family influence/growing up liking them. But I really only like Hockey live and haven't watched a game on TV in years. So, I'm unsure about that one as well. Or does me going to Nashville Knights games back in the day somehow grandfather me in as a Predators fan? Even though I wasn't living in Nashville when they came and never been to a game.
