Why do Texas fans act like the Longhorn network is great?

so far it looks like we are in for a looooooooooooooong offseason if we already have 6 pages on LHN which gets bashed every offseason since 2011. Hoping something really bad happens to give us something new to talk about before some sip brings up retroactive championships or Johnny news and we have to go through that discussion again...

We countered with "All 3rd tier programming sucks."
The Longhorn Network is not unique.

3rd tier is the junk nobody else wants.
So, the LHN and SEC Network both add a few fluff studio shows (repeated over and over) to make it less boring.

All the stuff that anyone cares about in the Big 12 is not part of the LHN.

It seems to me that Texas fans are the one backpedaling. Now going so far as to say the LHN sucks as a whole.

Because for years you've all talked about how much BETTER the LHN was than everything else, and now your only response is "All 3rd tier programming sucks". I had generally accepted that you got more team content, but the reality is - you don't.

In truth - all 3rd tier programming does not suck. In fact, I quite love it because it would be games and such that I wouldn't get to see otherwise. The only thing 3rd tier means is that normally it would only be broadcast regionally - if at all.

So how in the world can a fan of any team thing that the content sucks just because it's "3rd tier"?

And if you believe that "All 3rd tier programming sucks", does this mean you believe the LHN sucks? And funny enough, I seem to remember Oklahoma saying the LHN needs to go, but I guess they don't count - even though if Oklahoma leaves the Big12 you'll have nothing and probably wouldn't even deserve to be called a P5 conference anymore.

For the record, I don't even remotely regret not going to that game. I was worried I would be, but as soon as the game came on and they showed the stands and where I would have been sitting from the field, I knew right away I made the right decision.

I wouldn't have been going for a better experience, I would have just been going to say that I went. And fuck that shit, I'm too damn old to waste money just to brag about having gone to a game. If that means I have to listen to people such as yourself bring it up repeatedly whenever you get backed into a corner, then so be it. All it says to me is - you ain't really got shit to say, so you bring up petty bullshit.

I do however regret not knowing that the ticket prices were going to drop so much so that I could have planned for it and gotten better seats. When I first looked into tickets it was $2000 I would have had to spend just for the nosebleeds.

I think your feelings are hurt and their might even be some envy. LOL, the conference isn't falling apart. Big 12 has a lucrative TV contract with Fox and ESPN that runs til 2025. At our recent Texas Exes chapter meeting, one of the big donors had mentioned talks are heating up about expansion.

I think the LHN is symptom of a bigger problem and it's not a secret to what that problem is.

And I'd agree you need more markets, that's why you'll be adding Memphis and Cincy.

And as for conservative - this is not government. The people within a conference are chosen to be part of it, and member schools vote to have such things. Nobody is forcing them, unlike government.

Well, this Orangeblood has never said the LHN sucks. Again, if you're not an alumni, fan or student, why would you be interested in the LHN? If Bama had their own network, I wouldn't give two fucks about it b/c I'm not an alumni, student or a supposedly "die hard fan for 30 years" even though I've never been to a game. Wouldn't bother me at all, nor would I create a post and express my butthurtness about it......

If Oklahoma bails you'll be fucked. You'll end up being a mixture of the Big East and MWC.

I honestly hope it doesn't happen because I like 5 P5 conferences with only 4 playoff spots, but Texas seems to care more about short term money and itself than looking for long term goals.

If Alabama had it's own network, I probably wouldn't get to watch it since I live in Arizona and spent the majority of my recent years on the west coast.

I grew up the oldest kid of 3 and my parents didn't have the money to take me to games, then I joined the military and left home at 18. Cry more.
